Confident that when this list is mentioned in prayer, our Heavenly Father knows each name. Continuing in prayer and giving thanks for them, and all of our military people. God bless, guide, and protect them and their families. God bless our president, his family, and all of America. Good prevail.

We offer our prayers daily, Lord, to you, for guidance and wisdom and safety for all our beloved, brave soldiers. May you hold them in a special place in your heart, as we all do, and watch over them with special care.

We have two new names to ask you to watch over, Lord. Alamo-Girl's great nephew and our own Cheney Chick. Please keep them in the palm of your hand as we keep them close to our hearts.

Thank you for the pings to a brand new prayer thread.

Joining you in prayer for Alamo-Girl's great nephew, and our Cheney Chick, and for all of our troops and civilians serving in harm's way.

Our 'friend' in Iraq is now making regular convoy trips to Baghdad and back, where ambushes occur too frequently, and solo gringo's grandson is traveling to Germany and then finally home for Christmas for R & R.

Could you please add your prayers for their protection and strength as well?

One more, not meaning to be selfish, but could you add archy's name to the prayer list? He shares his military wisdom generously ~ to the young (and not so young) ~ instructs recruits, works on ways to save the lives of our troops.

TEXOKIE, thank you for your #10. Can't read your prayers without grinning from ear to ear in delight. (^:

God bless America and our endeavors to provide freedom to a weary nation and to protect our own country from the terrorists bred in such places. God protect our protectors.

Thank you again for this much needed thread. Our troops and their families so need us to give up just a LITTLE of our time to pray, to care, to let them know that this country is worth their sacrifice.

A "good news" thread posted by kattracks and residing now in Ragtime Cowgirl's collection shows that our prayers concerning interruptions in mail service have been answered!

DHL resumes flights to Baghdad
AP | 12/03/03

Posted on 12/02/2003 11:52 PM CST by kattracks

BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) -- The global package delivery service DHL said Tuesday it had resumed flights to Baghdad, after one of its planes was hit by a missile on its approach to the airport.
The missile struck a cargo plane on Nov. 23, forcing it to make an emergency landing at Baghdad's airport with its wing aflame. All three crew members were unhurt.

A U.S. military investigation indicated the plane was hit by a surface-to-air missile.

"From the advice we received, it is now a safe environment to fly," DHL spokeswoman Patricia Thomson told The Associated Press. She said flights to Baghdad International Airport resumed last Friday and the cargo company would "soon try to commence with three flights per day."

Thomson refused for security reasons to say what added measures DHL was taking to prevent further attacks.

It was the first time a civilian aircraft flying in and out of Baghdad had been hit by the shoulder-fired missiles that insurgents have used to down military helicopters elsewhere in Iraq.
