On 28 November 2003, we posted a digital image of a helicopter (above) flying near a nuclear power plant. We were in possession of this image for a full three days before we decided to present it on our web site. Upon our acquisition of the image, we initially believed it to be a well-known device used for clearing tree limbs, branches and brush from power lines. We also considered that it could be a helicopter transporting power equipment. Consistent with our manner of operation, however, we forwarded the photograph via email to an engineer who is currently working at a nuclear power plant and has a lengthy (and quite impressive) military background. Not expecting to receive any response beyond confirmation that the image was indeed that of a brush cutter, we found numerous images on the Internet, with one in particular that appeared remarkably like the device in our photograph. At that point, we began working on other matters. ...

These NEIN idiots are still sticking with their NEST "flux capacitor" nonsense about the helicopter image even though they know it's of a helicopter saw:

I'm not sure why they are so upset.
The helicopter's not black.

Ah, more solid work from the Northeast Stupidity Network.....
They make DUMBKA look like the Wall Street Journal.
I really think some of the "sources" of these guys, DUMBKA, Joseph Farah, etc. have fun pulling their legs and seeing what they'll print.

Is that a Mr. Fusion at the top of the blades?

"The helicopter's not black." A very clever disguise they're using, eh?

Not black, but a few feet to the left and it might be sizzling from the powerlines.
To: the gillman@blacklagoon.com
in that situation, there is no ground, so it would be like a bird on the line.

I don't know what the fuss is about the black choppers anyway.
We see them almost every day here. They fly over my house a lot, about a hundred feet sometimes. Friendly guys, they always wave. My dogs are so used to them they don't even bark.

That is one fancy skilsaw.

Actually, I find their explanation to be awesome...the NEST device is so super-secret that there is no picture of it so you can't refute our "analysis" of our picture....classic!
I also like the part where the "expert" says that people will say it is a saw, but it really isn't.

I don't know what the fuss is about the black choppers anyway. It's prejudice.
(Martin Luther King voice) I believe in a day,.... a day when ALL helicopters are judged by the CONTENTS of their radio-chip implanting devices... and NOT by the COLOR of their Infrared Avoiding paint....

Not sure if you read ALL the info at Northeast. they have documents stating that indeed it was a NEST device from the base operating the flights.

Umm, no they don't...they have "expert analysis" of the super-secret device.
To: mikegi
These guys are in over their heads. The giveaway is when they try to use technical terms but they end up being buzzwords, just gobbledygook. For example:
directional flux
radiological leakage detection
Flux is a scalar quantity. It has no "direction", so it can't be "directional". It is simply the number of particles incident upon a unit area per unit time. The directional quantity is current, given by the gradient of the flux.
Likewise, radiation does not "leak". It is simply emitted energy, carried by particles. Talking about "radiological leakage" is an exercise in nonsensical terms.

Umm, not sure if you're able to read critically.
They don't. They have a tremendous amount of SEEMINGLY relevant, but actually irrelevant information, assorted BS they have been fed in a lot of emails by either conspiracy kooks or people deliberately pulling their leg, and a lot of nice-sounding jargon.
All of which seems to do a fairly effective job of fooling not-very-bright FReepers.

A very clever disguise they're using, eh?They didn't fool me. Helicopter saws have 10 different vertical blades . Sinister devices have 11 different probes disguised as blades. Compare this photo with the one above at the start of the thread. -Tom
