Bagram G.I.: Troops Waited While Hillary Chowed Down

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton forced U.S. troops stationed at Bagram air base in Afghanistan to wait for their Thanksgiving dinner last Thursday, while she and her entourage arrived late, then cut in line and were served first.

A soldier who witnessed the scene tells NewsMax:

"Thanksgiving Dinner started at 3 p.m. that day, so the line was forming around 2:30 p.m. She didn't show up until around 3:30 p.m.

"Once she got there," our source maintains, "Clinton and her entourage bumped everyone in line, forcing them to wait almost an extra hour."

The brass at Bagram apparently had a hard time rounding up New Yorkers who wanted to have dinner with Mrs. Clinton. Only six G.I.'s responded to an email sent out last week that stated, "Looking for military members from New York and Rhode Island interested in meeting their Senator/Congressman."

People Magazine was on hand to cover the event and wanted to interview the troops for reaction to Mrs. Clinton's visit.

"But they were getting declined left and right," our source said. "People were actually telling the reporters 'You don't want to print what I think about her and her visit.'"

After Clinton and her entourage departed, the only topics G.I.s wanted to talk about were "how great the food was and how fantastic they thought George Bush's visit to Iraq was."

That horrible scraping sound you hear is Hillary Clinton grinding her teeth. They still can't get over how Dubya, who is supposed to be an drooling moron, keeps humiliating them.

heh heh heh...

The guys on her right answered the ad because they knew they wouldn't have to wait for chow like the others. The fems on the left obviously were her two or three fans in Iraq.

Your post is right on target. Any reduction of support for this war falls squarely on the shoulders of the liberal media. They refuse to report on the successes of the war, focus on the deaths of our brave troops, and criticize our President by masking editorials as reporting. The sheeple who still watch the alphabet networks are inundated with this spin. Hillary knows it, shoot, she eggs it on. Her comment about support for war waning is merely a continuation of the liberal plan to undermine our nation's resolve against terror. I tell ya, I can't stand that woman.

BTW, welcome to Free Republic. I see I'm going to enjoy reading your posts.

"Just look at what percentage of people who vote know the real Hillary Clinton. Just look at the number of Americans who know the details of the Intelligence committee memo or the one about the Conservative judicial nominees. Nearly no one."

So very true. In fact, I wrote a friend of mine and said, "wasn't that surprise trip by GW something?"

He did not know what had happened!!! It was on the news on Thanksgiving but not after. Since he wasn't watching t.v. on Thanksgiving.... he did not know about it.

Of course, it if had been Clinton who made the trip, we would have seen that video footage over and over and over.

absolutely true. I was watching a coalition briefing and the negative bias was revolting. Nothing positive gets reported.

She jumps line, delays troops from eating so she could stuff her hole,

Bush serves the Troops then eats later.

Why isn't the thrust of this article the underpinning of every story re Hillary's visit?

Bush has endured every imaginable criticism that a Liberal can fantasize; and yet; here is the truth of Hillary's visit;

. . . the wait; the 'self'-serving; the non-response; the non-sense; the veiled criticisms mixed with pure disdain of all things Military; and yet?

Sad that more people cannot access FoxNews; they showed the visit; the arrival the President serving the food all through the week-end. Still showing segments whenever the story comes up.

Knew the others would not go there.

When I was in the mil, I hated when VIP's toured. They were always late and we always had to wait. VIP's never apologize for that either.

I cannot disagree with you regarding the liberal bias of the mainstream media. However, while you see the glass as half empty, I see it as half full.

When I was growing up all we had was the mainstream media. We tuned into the nightly news on ABC, CBS or NBC to get our daily dose of liberal bias. We watched Meet the Press and the Today Show with ingnorant bliss. The New York Times and the Washington Post easily slanted the news of the day with their socialist agenda.

The few conservative voices, such as Willam F. Buckley, seemed hopelessly overwelmed and insignificant against the onslaught of the liberal juggernaught of the day.

Traditional Christian family values were slowly being eroded with the rise of feminism, socialism and the homosexual agenda. It was a death by a thousand cuts. We were being brainwashed and we did not even know it.

And then the tide began to change. Ronald Reagan came to power and was not afraid to state that the "King had no clothes". Through his leadership we saw the fall of the Soviet empire.

And then Rush Limbaugh appeared on the scene and he spoke the truth. He exposed the liberal agenda for what it truely was.

Then the internet arose and the liberal grip on the news began to weaken. We saw the rise of conservative websites such as our own Free Republic and News Max. Websites that presented the news as it was and offered an alternative to the main stream media.

And then Fox News was born. Rising from nothing to the pinnacle of cable news in a few short years. Filling a vacuum of need for fair and balanced news coverage.

And now the tide has changed. The Democratic party is headed the way of the dinosaur. The 2004 elections will continue the trend. 2006 will be even better.

Young people today are learning the truth through talk radio, through the internet, through Fox news and most importantly by example of our great President, GWB.

They say the light is darkest before the dawn. And the darkness of clintonian democracy is passed. I see a beautiful dawn beginning as we head toward a conservative day.

Just my two cents.....

her comments require some form of censure by the Senate. I've written to Pat Roberts

it's getting worse so something needs to be done and a censure seems our only option at this point.
