University of Oklahoma has one of the most conservative coaches in America -- Bob Stoops and his staff. When invited to the White House after the 2000 National Championship season by Pres Bush, Bob Stoops came right and out said we supported you Mr. President.

Tell the Aggies they lost because they have an athletic director with mush for brains. The way they hired Franchionne from Alabama while firing Slocum the way they did, the Aggies deserve everything they have coming.

Was at the Oklahoma/A&M game -- The Aggies quit on their coach halfway through the 2nd quarter. We played everyone including the scout team and the Aggies still couldn't cross their own 41 yard line. Three first downs -- give me a break! Baylor gave more of a game by far then the Aggies.

They were pathetic and gave about 30% in that game. This is one game we could have scored a 100 or more. Taking a knee on first down on the 3 yard line with a lot of time left in the game should have been an embarrassment to the Aggies. Or how about letting the clock run in the second half and no time outs when the Sooners got first downs or either team ran out of bounds. Franchione saying if the clock hadn't been running, they could have least scored just added insult to his own program. They couldn't even get a first down against our scout team, how were they going to score. Then he said the ref never told him the clock was going to keep running but the ref said they did!

We put in plays with a fullback that have never been run here so we wouldn't score and what do the Aggie players do -- tackle our player in the backfield that was 10 yards behind the quaterback to not to score and then march around the field beating on their chest after the tackle in the 4th quarter down 77-0!

Texas A&M should be ashamed of their Aggie football team and the performance they put on here in Norman -- to quit and not try hard says a lot about their coaching staff and the players themselves. I would take Baylor's pride over the Aggies any day of the week for this season.

Maybe some Aggie can tell us Sooners why they wave white towels around -- that Saturday it looked like surrender flags. Don't you think waving a towel with the A&M red color would be more appropriate.

My two cents -- have zero respect for the Texas A&M football program right now -- they should get a clue from Baylor who never quit in our game. I have kept my mouth shut about that 77-0 win, but this article takes the cake. OU for their information is a conservative university for the most part as is Okie State who also clobbered the Aggies.

I remembered that, it was the most ridiculous thing I had ever seen, I wished OU would have hung 100 on them (and they very easily could have).

Just why should A&M have kept Slocum? His recruiting had declined in quality and his offensive coordinators never matched up to top level programs around the country. While A&M won SWC championships in '91, '92, and '93 under Slocum, they lost all three corresponding Cotton Bowl appearances. Only one of those games was competitive, the '94 Cotton Bowl against Notre Dame which ND won 24-21. In the others A&M failed to score a touchdown. Actually during the '90 - '93 Cotton Bowls none of the SWC teams scored a single touchdown. I think that was indicitive of they declining quality of competition in the SWC in its final years. A&M even came close to going undefeated against all SWC competition for four years '92-'95 (lost the final SWC game ever played to Texas in 1995), but won only one one bowl game in that period (the Alamo Bowl in 1995 against Michigan). While A&M played well at home they have often done poorly on the road against ranked teams. I really don't think Slocum was the coach capable of making A&M competitive in the second decade of the Big 12. It also wasn't a secret that Slocum was in the hot seat. There was an article in Texas Monthly prior to the 2001 season about the unhappiness of Aggies with the direction of the performance of his teams. That was about 16 months prior to his firing.

What was so bad about the hiring of Franchione? Alabama was under NCAA sanctions and was about to be hit with more investigations for infractions that ocurred prior to the time when Franchione arrived in Alabama. Why should Franchione have had to suffer with sanctions generated by his predecessor? Considering how Alabama hired Bear Bryant during the middle of the 1957 season, turnabout is fair play. A&M was undefeated late in the 1957 and in a position to win a national championship when the rumors about Bryant leaving A&M for the head coaching job at Alabama started. After the rumors broke out, A&M lost crucial games against Rice and Texas.

The two things I remembered from the A&M game was the "we're not really trying to make a first down" running plays OU ran while up 77-0 deep in Aggie territory with NINE MINUTES left in the game, and when an Aggie lineman stuffed one of those plays he goes on to flip the Sooner player over and start into his "look at me, I made a great play" sack dances afterwards. Truly pathetic!

I hope the Sooners don't realize they are actually playing for Texas this week more than they're playing for themselves. They get the Sugar Bowl, win or lose. The Longhorns get aced out of the Rose Bowl if the Sooners lose. This BCS system is f-ed up beyond belief.

I'm going to have to wolf down those "little purple pills" while rooting for OU this Saturday. I feel dirty just thinking about it.

'Scuse me, Mom, but A&M coach Francione has red-shirted his best freshman this year, so that they can play four years starting next year-- which he knew would make this year tough. The NEW coach has switched from a 3-4 defense to a 4-3 defense. It takes time to learn a new defense like that-- the change is a big one. I'm an Aggie, and I'm not ashamed of the team or the bake sale. I'd just lke the AD to shut up and stick to AD-ing.
