Thanks for the post. Fascinating place, but Stonehenge steals a lot of its thunder. Avebury's close to it, though, so it's easy to visit if one's going to see Stonehenge.

This spider's web crop circle appeared outside the henge-banks of the North East Quadrant of the Avebury stone ring. This is the largest stone ring in Europe. In the surrounding henge, the distance from the top of the bank to the bottom of the ditch was a staggering seventy feet!

Could be on to something there, blam. The Chi-coms are fiercely protective of Chinese cultural and archeaological sites in general though.

But I think I read one of your postings once regarding some Caucasian culture found all the way east in ancient China. Forgive me, my memory ain't what it used to be. :)

Lots to see in Avebury besides the megaliths, too. There's St. James Church, Avebury Manor (though I don't know if it's open to visitors anymore), Silbury Hill which is nearby. Neat place.

There are many poems written about the green eyes of the Han Emperors and another source mentions the red hair of their magic men.

Take a look at the history of these two groups Hakka and the Xiongnu.
I believe the Xiongnu are related to the Schtyians.(sp)
Then there are the 4,000 year old Tolkarian(sp) (Caucasian) mummies found in the Chinese desert at Urumchi that are about as Celtic as can be.
