Another thing: people still rarely mention that Michael R. Schiavo, a popular Pinellas Co. resident, has already starved to death his mother and father!!!!

Aside from the media, which comes onto the scene bearing an agenda, this is becoming more and more an acceptable thing. "Oh, what a good boy, he didn't make his parents suffer!"

If legalized euthanasia (and that's what this "living will" business is) continues unchallenged for a decade, the floodgates will open for it, in the same way as did abortion.

What would be uncannily interesting is to move the clock forward 40 to 50 years and see if Michael R. Schiavo is to be starved and dehydrated at his request. And if there is INSURANCE involved!!!!

From the last article:

Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, one of Gephardt's rivals for the party's presidential nomination, has said he agrees with Bush's decision, saying government must "honor life."

Let's not forget to thank Senator Lieberman!

Very interesting thought, especially because it doesn't occur to people like Michael that one day the Grim Reaper will come knocking on their doors!

Well, if one day Jodi has HIS feeding tube pulled, he'd have a few days to think things over.

We should thank Sen. Lieberman and maybe ask him for help.

It is too bad that too many in the media keep presenting a distorted image of MS.

CentreDaily.com (Oct. 25), for example, mentioned some of the Schindler's charges but obviously leaned towards Michael: that he received $300,000 for loss of companionship, had lots of girlfriends in high school, worked for MacDonald's, how Jodi is a godsend, how he is doing this out of love for his wife, etc.

As an aside, have you heard the interview with Michael's former girlfriend? (It was on terrisfight.org.) She sounded normal, and had a normal reaction to Michael's darkness. What does that say about Jodi? I tell you, there's something seriously wrong with that girl. When I think of them together, Joel Steinberg and Hedda Nussbaum come to mind:

Joel and Hedda

Good idea! I'm thinking of what to write to him. When I'm ready, I will include it.

Not a chance of Jodi pulling Michael R. Schiavo's feeding tube. More likely he will pull HERS TOO. And the people of FL just snooze away in the approaching winter sun.

I plan to write to him also.

What bothers me a lot is that Michael S., a truly evil man, is portrayed as a "gentle giant"; "loving husband"; practically a martyr, by much of the media.

His background appears so ordinary: grew up in Levittown, Pa. in a Lutheran family; youngest of 5 brothers; dropped out of Bucks County Community College in 1982 and went to work for McDonald's, etc.

Only those in denial or with an agenda of their own can overlook his dark side behind the mask of ordinariness.

It bothers me a lot, too. But that's the way evil is able to continue in the world. If it showed itself as it really is, all of mankind would naturally find it repulsive.

And there you have it.

Also, people who haven't any regular contact with God, lack spiritual sensitivity.

Excellent point, Lauren. Alexander Pope put it this way:

"Vice is a monster of such frightful mein
That to be hated needs but to be seen

But when seen to oft, familiar with its face
We first pity, then endure, then embrace!"

I really don't have much knowledge about Alexander Pope, and I should. I run across a quote of his every now and then.

This one is so germaine to our conversation, and so TRUE! Pope hits the nail right on the head.

I enjoyed your posts very much, you two! :o)
