If you are looking for a "quasi" historical movie, my recommendation would be The Patriot with Mel Gibson. Has nothing to do with Crime, unless you (rightfully) consider what the British Officer did, criminal.
Most Movies I've seen, deal with ownership of guns to be a hedge against a Tyrannical Government (as well they should be).
