Actually, out here in California, some of GW's biggest supporters are the 30 some group and the late 20 group.
Most are young parents, and 9/11 really impacted them.
These young voters were part of the reason we were able to vote out Herr Davis.
I see more rats in the Boomers and the pre Boomers my age out here in California. For the most part they have hated America since the 1960/70's and relate very well to the Clintoons and the thugs who support the Clintoons. Howie Dean is a favorite of many who don't support the Clintoons.

Thus, the burden is on the Democrats to persuade people that they have a better vision for the future, and a clear plan on how to realize that vision. The dems are incapable of doing this.

Hey, I'm a generation Xer and I voted for Clinton first term. I was 20 and full of all sorts of ideals instilled in me from kindergarten. "Wouldn't it be great if everyone had the same thing?" I also thought Bill Clinton was "cooler" than George Bush because Bill Clinton went on MTV and "seemed" to care about me and my generation. George Bush didn't know what a grocery store scanner was (or so I thought after reading the biased media portrayal of that). After growing up a bit, realizing that while it's nice for everyone to have the same thing in theory. Fact is that I was working my butt off while others were slacking and they got part of what I worked for. I also had children and got some morals up under me and realized that I didn't want a sleazebag cheater/lying jerk running this country. By the time his terms was up, I voted for George W. Bush.
I was grateful that Clinton did the welfare reform act. If a republican had pushed for it, it wouldn't have gotten anywhere. I DO hate that damn medicare drug bill though. Policitally I understand it, pocketbook wise, I don't.

I thought "Hate" was a bad think. "Hate Speach" is supposed to be bad. Wouldn't "Hating" a person lead to violence or murder. I think the "Hate Bush" conference was evil and a symptom of a problem in our land.
It is a problem the Democrats now own.

It does seem to be the main policy point..Hate Bush.Seems like they are grasping at anything they can to try and defeat Bush. His latest approval rating is 61% and the left is enraged.
How many of the alaphabet networks have had anything about Bush's approval rating since it jumped to over 60%?
Zip - zero - nada.

The 'rats are starting to resemble snarling rabid lemmings, who are so blinded by hate that while they think they are attacking Bush in a mighty bonzai charge, they don't see the sea cliff ahead of them.
Good riddance to this party of socialists and commie-loving traitors. I wonder what new party will rise from the ashes?

. George Bush didn't know what a grocery store scanner was (or so I thought after reading the biased media portrayal of that). I always thought that was one of the lamest arguments
1) store scanners were just coming out back then
2) Tell me when a President goes food shopping??

George Bush didn't know what a grocery store scanner was (or so I thought after reading the biased media portrayal of that).I remember that! The truth is that he did know about the store scanners.
The media just used that story to make us think that, because he was the President, he didn't hang out in grocery lines like the rest of us.

SSSSSHHHHHHH.....be very, very quiet.....let them go on. I want all (especially young voters) to see them for what they are - devoid of anything good and only interested in their own power.

I think that bunch in Hollywood is tied in with the George Soros group. He's put up millions in order to defeat Bush.

Yes, our national sovereignty is an important issue. And it's going to be even more important in the future.

I have to admit Im not one of those people that want the Democrats to just vanish from sight, though I sympathize with those who do At this point I'd like to see the Dems, if not vanish, at least diminish to a 3rd party.
Say what you want about the domestic policies of Dems like FDR and LBJ. At least, they believed in the greatness of America and defending the nation. Much of today's Democratic Party rejects this. Lieberman and maybe Gephardt are the only two of the nine Presidential candidates I think would stand up for the country.
We cannot have a major political party where 80% of its leaders are, for all intents and purposes, opposed to the safety of the nation. Indeed, we shouldn't need to be debating this.
I don't agree with the Democrats on the budget, taxes, and economy, but by all means that is what we should be debating. I agree with the Dems on some social issues -- gay marriage, for example -- and that is an issue that the nation needs to be (and is) debating.
But we should not have to debate whether America should be defended. Both major parties should, almost reflexively, turn to the defense of America. Any debate on that should be how to best go about it.
If the Dems are unwilling to defend America, they need to go away. I hope that the next 20 years or so, sees the GOP divide into two parties -- either along libertarian vs. conservative lines or sort of a moderate Democrats/Northeastern Republicans vs. Remaining GOP lines -- and the Dems fade into history.
Then we will again have two major parties that believe in America, arguing over which has the better ideas for it. As it should be.

They don't discuss Bush polls unless the word "plummeting" can be used.

A very thoughtful post. You point out some interesting trends that may very well prove to be correct.

Thanks.
The other possibility, perhaps, is that as the New Left Boomers die off, the Democratic Party will snap back to its relative senses.
