The letters M.D. can also mean mentally deficient !!!!!! many physicians are unidimensional, boring,arrogant and pompous...sadly today there are few physicians that are schooled in the humanities as well as the sciences,the few that are,are exceptional and remarkable human beings...eg Dr William Osler from Johns Hopkins Hospital.. If only The life of sir William Osler by Harvey Cushing,as well as "Science and Immortality"the Ingersoll lecture {1904}by Dr Osler were required reading for todays medical students......
