RUMMYS NO. 2

Word is that Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz may bow out as soon as February.

Replacement requirements: a strong manager, one who can repair problems with the military and could take over for Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

Several names have bubbled up including Deputy White House National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley, a former Pentagon assistant, and NASA boss Sean O'Keefe, a former Secretary of the Navy.

I would hate to see a guy as despised by the Left as Wolfowitz leave. He makes them do crazy things and contributes to their general sense of paranoia. Maybe Ann Coulter could take his place.

Clarence Page mentioned today on Chrissy Matthews Show, that someone big in the Bush administration would be leaving within three months. Is Wolfowitz the one?

The funny thing is, that despite the fact that Lefties hate this guy so much, it wouldn't surprise me if they point to his leaving as proof of anti-semitism on Bush's part! That's how shameless these people are.

I agree. I do think it would be good if W put in another person of impeccable right wing credentials so the Rats don't think they're getting away with something.

Good idea. Maybe Bush should give Ann Coulter a position somewhere in the administration just to give the lefties a distracting target. How about Ambassador to the UN? She's more qualified than some of the people who have served there.

Of course our present team at the UN is doing very well. Maybe she could be the new Surgeon General. She'd be a lot better at it than any of clinton's appointees.

Speaking of the UN, I always thought that it would be a hoot to put Jesse Helms in charge of our UN delegation. He'd set 'em straight in a hurry! :P

Norah O'Donnell also said this weekend that a Cabinet member would soon leave to work on Bush's re-election. My bet is Don Evans. Then, you have Martinez announcing his resignation as soon as tomorrow.

I think Porter Goss may be in the running, too, if the notion is that he will be the future Secretary of Defense. He's a former officer with U.S. Army Intelligence and the CIA, and is currently the head of the House Intelligence Committee. He's also a very close friend of GWB's.

Oh, and he'll be out of a job in 2005, anyway-- he's retiring from Congress.

The Bush Administration would never be stupid enough to put Ann Coulter in a position as important as Wolfowitz's.

That wouldn't require intellegence, it would require courage. Ann is more than up to the task. I'm sure however, she wouldn't much care for the pay cut reuired.

Someone was just dropping Ann Coulter's name out of the blue as Wolfowitz' replacement for a lark. I think it is also a trick to get someone to put her picture in the thread.

By tomorrow this rumor will be all over WDC.
