Interesting. Requires a lot more time and thought than I have right now.
But...
1)corporatism is probably inevitable given population size, and technological level
2)corporatism, or a version of it, used to be called fascism - a delicious irony
3)the alliance of the corporate elites with government began long ago - under Teddy Roosevelt - when the former realized that unrestricted competition was destructive and not in their interests.

Excellent read, thanks for posting it.

It's good to see my corporatist model of modern America is obtaining in the intellectual elites. I've been sayin' it for years.
And yes, it is fascism. Though I imagine some of the jingoistic elements of fascism are not as strong in the US as in Germany or Italy of the 30s. Too much of the corporate structure and the elite is anti-American, or ambivalent at best.

Newt Gingrich, who thought that the failure of Clinton's health plan signified the electorate's rejection of "socialism," learned this the hard way. Ouch! That's going to leave a mark.

The New Deal and simultaneous Soviet NEP (New Economic Plan), are earlier versions.
The common link is that state capitalism "feeds" socialism.
This is the doctrine of Lenin, and we are all Marxists now.
