And off to Florida? If so, good.

HUD's loss will hopefully be the Senate's gain.

Now if somebody would just "retire" HUD, we'd have something to celebrate.

You know-that would be a damn good idea!
I like the sound of that. We don't have urban decay anymore. I say phase out the money in terms of grants to states.

Four possible US Senate picks:
Florida
Georgia
South Carolina
North Carolina

Hmmm... who will replace Martinez? Before Martinez was picked as HUD Secretary, there was talk of Rick Lazio filling the post.

Hmmm... who will replace Martinez? How about NOBODY... shut the agency down and save $31,300,000,000 for the next year!

Rick Lazio is persona non grata in the Republican party.
The reason for this is that he promised he would run for his old House seat last year if his seniority was restored. Hastert agreed and then he backed out of the deal. By then, it was too late to field a viable candidate and the democrat won.
The Bush family/administration put loyalty above all else. There is no way in Hell he'll appont Lazio.

Another RINO off to the slaughter (hopefully). This lib was trying to kill the lending industry with his crazy regulations. Lets hope he doesn't get near a voting button in the US Senate.

Thats not Lazio's fault though. Who backed out? Lazio or Hastert?

I agree. That sure beats the hell outta trying to raise taxes in a pinch, or searching under the sofa cushion to try to balance the budget or get the deficit under control while wastefully spending on do nothing departments created by the left as some waste-of-money-feel-good department of government.

Mel Martinez has won 1 of 3 political elections in his lifetime. Everything is served to him on a silver platter...except this U.S. Senate race. Daniel Webster has what it takes to squash him...that's who I am backing.
