It provides unmarried couples little aside from a forum to attest their bonds. Activists hope to expand gay rights in Arizona.

Leslie Carlson and Beth Carey have been a couple for 12 years. They own a home together on the near West Side, are named beneficiaries on each other's life insurance policies and wear wedding rings that signify their bond. But Carlson and Carey aren't married and can't be married in Arizona because they are gay.

The company where my wife works instituted a "domestic partners" policy several years ago. You should have heard the outcry...

...from the "gay and lesbian" crowd!!! Apparently, some heartless individual snuck in a couple of special rules, such as not being able to change your partner more than once in 24 months and any health/medical coverage being retroactively cancelled from the moment the partnership is dissolved (defined as having a separate address, among others).

Apparently, the GLBT types claim that, since they can't legally marry, it is virtually impossible for most of them to maintain a relationship for as long as 24 months. They also objected to the separate address determination because a bunch were planning to register friends who they like to "party with" (it that is the term).

How fitting for an article about gays registering on the same day that the First Amendment took a hit.

First identify and register.

Then exterminate!

Sends shivers down my spine.

It couldn't happen in a good Christian country like Germany, but it did!

In this land......

it only takes a Hitlery!!

"Immigration rights and the right to be with your partner come with marriage."

I'd hate to be the INS agent interviewing this guy and his boyfriend about the legitimacy of their "marriage."
