As much fun as it is to watch the Democrat party in a cannibalistic feeding frenzy, Gore's move sure is a head-scratcher. I first thought that it was a pro-Clinton ploy, so she could be drawn RELUCTANTLY into a VP slot (but maybe Dean realizes his life expectancy would then just about match that of a 2nd LT in Viet Nam). But the Clinton/McAuliffe actions against Dean seem to argue against that. Gore still peeved against Clinton, and trying to spite that camp? Or maybe being willing to take one for the team and back an expected loser against Bush to keep the field open in 2004 for H to dash onto the scene? I don't see him as that selfless.

The feeding frenzy is not new, it is just out in the public eye a little more. The background work done to sink Bill Clinton by the Democrats was substantial and should have sparked and interest from the leftist voters but it did not. It was not easy to dig up McDougal and Whitewater and all the rest but the Democrats did it and managed to blame the GOP. Go figure. This will get dirty. I hope Doctor Dean is ready for Arkansas mud. He does not appear to have the thick skin and experience to withstand what will hit the fan. He stepped into the Vermont top job when the sitting Gov. died. My guess is that he will implode

The Clinton's, espcially Hillary, are upset about Gore's endorsement. It's not part of their plan. Gore hates those two with a passion, especially Hillary. Don't forget, she was taking his campaign money, that should have gone to him in 2000. She likes to steal thunder. Perhaps that's why she's known as "thunder-thighs." Oops, I just couldn't resist that one.
