I can see why. I can imagine it's been tough, all these years, not really knowing anything about yourself.
To: DaughterOfAnIwoJimaVet
Oh yes. The tales of woe I could tell... sigh...

So, any idea when this thing is coming? When will these years of personal torment be over?
I can't wait to find out your real name. Tonto-something, probably. ; )
To: DaughterOfAnIwoJimaVet
I have no idea... The waiting... it's... torture...

A good thing to do is to photocopy your receipts after Christmas, and make copies for everyone on the Grinch list.

THis is, in reality, a large part of the reason I really dislike Christmas - what should be a time of giving, helping others, and celebrating the birth of Christ, has turned into commercialized, secular, gimee gimee crap...
Bah Humbug.

I think stores refer to Christmass enough. Holiday Season also refers to new years. If they are avoiding the term Christmass and sales are down they will get the message. I really don't care, the Christmass the stores celebrate is a pagan holiday anyway.

I say "Merry Christmas" and the vast majority of customers appreciate it. In fact, judging from some of the reactions, it is a very welcome surprise. (although the wife of the local ACLU attorney didn't appreciate it) I would rather acknowledge Jesus in some little way and make hundreds of people happy as well than be PC to please one person who would hate me regardless.

There are other MEDIA too, to PROTEST.....Cooking Light Magazine, for instance, has NOT ONE mention of Christmas in their December 2003 issue, but does have an article titled "Honoring Hanukkah"......I'm cancelling my subscription (which I JUST resubscribed to).

"I celebrate Christmas, so what if my neighbour doesn't? I'm not going to jam it down his throat... that's unethical and unconstitutional."
Judging by your spelling of "neighbour", assume you're not American. Whether you are or not, you are unfamiliar with the Constitution. It only prohibits establishment of a national religion, and celebrating Christmas does not do that. In a country blatantly founded on Christian principles by Christians, it isn't unreasonable to expect to see a healthy respect for CHRISTmas here. That does not "jam it down" anybody's throat. My "neighbour" can ignore it, the same way I ignore celebrations that I disagree with. This is America. Freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion.

Today I was at Ballston Mall in Arlington, Virgnina. The Mall has two Hecht's stores on either end of the mall: the traditional department store and a newer furniture gallery store. At the entrance to each of them were large signs on portable stands. All the signs had the same message: "Christmas Holiday Sale: 20% to 50% off."
This is the first sign anywhere in a Hecht's store this season on which I've seen printed the word 'Christmas.' Further, it is prominently placed. Is this a breakthrough? Could it be that the Grinch List is having an effect? After all, Hecht's is on the list. For whatever reason, it's a good 'sign' -- pun intended.

(It's Christmas, not a mystery 'holiday')
