Anyone who has lived on both sides of the border might be interested in a great book about Canadian history. It's called
Caesars of the Wilderness, and it chronicles the parallel growth of Canada as a nation and the Hudson's Bay Company as the oldest corporate presence on the continent.
I found this to be a remarkable book, because I think it helps explain why the underlying attitudes of Canadians towards people in positions of authority are so different than the attitudes of Americans in this regard.
Hey the one thing that is UNRIVELED anywhere is the Hudson's Bay Blanket!! Remember those?? I still have one and would like to get another one. Those suckers are well over $200.00 now PLUS the GIST AND THE PIST!! (Add 14.5%) tax! UGH!!
