WASHINGTON - Democratic presidential candidates welcomed news Sunday of Saddam Hussein's capture, saying the arrest of Iraq 's former dictator marked a great day for U.S. soldiers, the people of Iraq and of the world.

What they really wanted to say!

Howard Dean: “I SUPPOSE capturing Sadaam Hussein is a good thing, I guess, but why wasn’t it the Germans who captured him?”

Joe Lieberman: “I supported the Generals and Colonels who ran this operation. And I think Hussein should be brought back to the U.S. and shot, but not on the Sabbath.”

John F. Kerry: “F…’in A, That F’er has been yanking our chain, and F’in President Bush should be F’in ashamed of himself for not getting the F’er right away. If it was me there, I would have put two in the F'er's head, like I did in F'in 'Nam."

John Edwards: “I think it’s great that we got him, but I’m hearing disturbing reports that the forces did not obtain a search warrant before entering the house, and that Hussein was not read his Miranda rights. If his family wants representation, please call my office at 1-800-AMBULANCE.”

Dick Gephardt: “I’m so happy for the working families of Iraq. We should help them organize and strike for a living wage. Just this week working families in Iraq were talking ‘strike for living wages’ in the streets of Baghdad, and I think it’s outrageous that President Bush has been so callous. My father drove a milk truck…”

Al Sharpton: “I think it’s crazy to treat a brother like that. Since Hussein was obviously a street person due to Republican policies, we need to drag President Bush from the foxhole he’s in somewhere down it Texas.”

Dennis Kucinich: “This proves Sadaam did not have any WMD’s or else he would have used them on the troops who captured him, who shouldn’t have been there to begin with.”

Wesley Clark: "I want to thank my troops, who used to be under my command, for a successful implimentation of my plan. Now is the time for us to grovel before France and Germany and plead with them for their OK to go into Iraq. Maybe we should just give them the rebuilding contracts now, in an effort for atonement. I’m not sure on that, though. Hillary hasn’t told me yet.”

Hillary Clinton: “Well, you know, my husband has long been, you know, in favor of getting rid of, you know, the bad guys. We actually had him, you know, several times but, you know, were prevented in arresting him since Janet Reno didn’t get the necessary warrants printed in time. Let me reiterate in no uncertain terms that I am not now a candidate for president, nor is it my intention to become one if offered.”

Terry McAuliffe:” It was me who phones it the tip on Hussein. Please send the $25 millon to my attention, at DNC Headquarters, Palo Alto, California. Sooner rather than later would be appreciated.”

Al Gore: “Oops! Uh, Howard, ixnay on the eechspay.”

The AP's take is HERE.

I predict not one of the Democrats to give Bush any credit or congradulations on this.

This will boost Gephardt in Iowa. Dean's anti-war routine looks even more ridiculous now. The sane Dem voters might realize that now.

You might be right! If they do, and they may not do it for a while, say 20 minutes, it would further alienate them from the vast segment of the American population.

Gore really is a monumental loser. He make his big endorsement of Dean a couple days before the big day. Nice timing Al. Rove must be laughing his ass off. It's probably good for at least a 10 point bump in Bush's approval rating. Now that I think about it, Gore's beard made him look a little bit like prisoner #1.

As Always, you are Right...

On the international side, I was a little surprised that Germany did congradulate Bush, but as expected Chirac could not bring himself to do so.

It's probably good for at least a 10 point bump in Bush's approval rating.

And a corresponding drop in Dean's support. The Democratic race is now wide open wih 4 or 5 candidates in the mix. I don't see Dean as the odds on favorite at this point.

The DUers are reeling. A few have the decency to admit the capture is fantastic news, but most are pathetically switching gears to "saddam really isn't behind the insurgency against the U.S. imperialist occupiers." Others are about to pull out the cyanide-flavored Kool-Aid. Worth the trip.

Where are the statements such as "Where is Saddam?" Now it will be strictly "Where are the weapons of mass destruction?" By the time the military gets finished "interrogating" Saddam, rest assured the WMD question will also be answered.

The DemocRATs are crapping their diapers. They have less than a snowball's chance in hell in the upcoming elections, and they know it!

Yeah. This is a boon for Gephardt. He cashing in with that AP article. "I supported the war all along." Of course I hope Dean wins it. Won't be pretty.

"...the arrest of Iraq 's former dictator marked a great day for U.S. soldiers, the people of Iraq and of the world."

1) The U.S. soldiers. A nod to the soldiers because they are desperately trying to shake their decades of anti-military hatred and prejudice. Must make the soldiers feel good to know that the RAT's who usually use the military as cuspidors and footmen are now thrilled for their ability to achieve the directives that the CIC has set for them.

2) No mention of the CIC without whom that very same military force wouldn't be in Iraq achieving the feats that they are.

3) The people of Iraq. Finally, acknowledgement that there has been a need for liberating them. Of course, the very next ambush will bring back the litany of doubts, the recriminations, the blame, the anti-American tone we've all come to know and expect from our media presstitutes and their RAT masters.

4) The World. Ah, yes. The same world that has condemned us and slandered us all through this operation. The same world that has done N-O-T-H-I-N-G at all during the march from Afghanistan to this stinking RAT hole where Sodom was found. Thank God that world is safe and rejoicing.

This provender is so predictable it's no wonder that CNN was given special access to Sodom by overlooking the facts, the truth, the reality and basic reporting responsibility. I favor the immediate arrest and trial of the international press as comrades of the Baathist regime and complicit in Sodom's crime.
