Don't here much about the good in Iraq from the media. Maybe I missed those segments.

Listen to the leftists and liberals, and all you'll hear is how Iraqis hate us and kill our troops. Here's another truth, even more basic. The Iraqis are armed. We did not disarm the population. If Americans were the hated oppressors we're painted to be, we could NEVER get away with that.

Tyrants always disarm their people. The Soviets did, the Cubans, the Chinese, the Vietnamese, the North Koreans, the Nazis, the fascists, the Cambodians. They can't face an armed population. But Americans can and do in Iraq.

Thanks for that info--it is what I have heard from friends over there and some is a bit more than what I have heard. The US media doesn't cover this because it is not "sexy" and doesn't guarantee "attention". A suicide bomber is a guarranteed attention-getter.

But why don't we hear about it in the Iraqi press, which is now free? Why doesn't MEMRI - or other translation services - publish the good news?

Perhaps that's why the leftists and liberals don't really want democracy in Iraq to succeed. They're afraid Americans will get a taste of it and remember what it was like to be a democratic Republic with all the intrinsic freedoms, including the right to bear arms and free speech.

When the Iraqi war began, I don't know how many times I heard my liberal acquaintances argue that they had no doubt the Americans would win, but they were SO worried about the "horrible" ramifications AFTER the war.

Therefore, President Bush was rash, stupid and a real wild-west cowboy for going into Iraq in the first place. He should have given the UN more time for debate, resolutions, sanctions, blah, blah, blah.

Well, these folks were half-right. We won the war. We're reconstructing infrastructure and representative government in Iraq faster than the many, many years it took to do likewise in Germany and Japan.

And we don't have to watch the TV to see helpless humans being pushed off building roofs onto concrete any more, one after another....smash, smash, smash.

Yet Hillary and the Eight Dwarfs (excluding Lieberman) are STILL predicting disaster. They want to turn over post-war control of Iraq to the hapless, ineffective and wrangling UN tower of babble. The U.S. just CAN'T do the job alone (of course, there are over 60 countries with us in the Coalition of the Willing)

Saints presarve us from these ignorant, desparate liberal Democrat candidates (including Hillary) who will say and do ANYTHING to snatch defeat from the jaws of a US victory just to attain THE primary seat of power in the world.
