CHESAPEAKE, Virginia (CNN) -- Teen sniper suspect Lee Boyd Malvo wrote letters to a fellow inmate this summer, coaching him on ways to fool authorities and encouraging him to look for opportunities to escape, prosecutors disclosed Monday.

Prosecutors said the three undated letters were written this summer, at a time when defense attorneys claim Malvo, now 18, had broken free of the psychological grip of his alleged sniper partner, John Allen Muhammad.

"I play the stupid fool," he wrote. "Look at how I act and speak -- everybody underestimates me.

Really thinks he's something special, doesn't he? He'll find out how much the jury "underestimates" him soon enough.

The disclosure of the letters came as prosecutors presented evidence challenging Malvo's attorneys' claims that their client was not guilty of the charges he is on trial for because he was insane at the time of last year's shootings.

Oops!

Yeah, his escape methods are really something to write about. Like the time he crawled up into the ceiling tiles in a holding room and tried to get out of the building. That had them fooled for about 15 seconds.

It's going to be a pleasure seeing this full-of-himself murdering bastard fry.

"I play the stupid fool ...everybody underestimates me."

Nah, if you read the interrogation transcripts you can hear the detectives humoring him, poking at his ridiculous acting, and stroking his attitude of mental superiority ("Gosh, you're really a smart guy John.").

Then they get him to confess everything, right down to the minute details (e.g., that he shot the Home Depot woman from 152 yards distance).

John Lee Malvo, Actual Stupid Fool (tm).

"I play the stupid fool," he wrote. "Look at how I act and speak -- everybody underestimates me. They say he can't do shit, look at his ass, and I love that, it gives me the edge I need to study, conquer and overcome."

Sounds like pretty good stragegery to me!

The jury is deliberating now. I hope they put Malvo on death row, right next to his "father."
