Bush, Sharon to share Saddam's fate, Khamenei says

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's supreme leader, in his first public comments since the capture of Saddam Hussein, said on Tuesday that George W. Bush and Israel's Ariel Sharon would suffer the same fate as the former Iraqi leader.

Addressing a crowd of thousands in the city of Qazvin, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei expressed joy over the arrest of Saddam, who invaded Iran's fledgling Islamic republic in 1980, starting an eight-year war that left hundreds of thousands dead.

"Now that he has been captured, the Islamic world and all those who know what a savage animal he was feel delighted," Khamenei said in a speech broadcast live on state television.

"The Iraqi nation has suffered greatly under this bloodthirsty wolf. Now it is apparently free of him."

But Khamenei also used Saddam's downfall to take a swipe at Iran's two other great political enemies -- the United States and Israel -- by condemning their respective leaders, President Bush and Prime Minister Sharon.

"I heard the U.S. president saying the world is a better place without Saddam. I want the U.S. president to know that a world without Bush and Sharon is a much better place," he said.

"All of those who are ruling the world arrogantly like a dictator in the name of improving democracy and human rights... should know that they will not enjoy a better ending than Saddam," he added.

Iran's government on Monday called for Saddam to be tried in an international court and said it was preparing a case against him for crimes committed during the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war.

Yes, because he think's he'll finally control Iraq now. There have always been Iranian agents in Iraq, just like there were Iraqi agents in Iran. Both sides trying to destroy the other from within. A real Islamic Cold War.

"The Iraqi nation has suffered greatly under this bloodthirsty wolf. Now it is apparently free of him."

Pot. Kettle. Black. You could very well be next, Khamenei. We never said you weren't in our sites. Just that we didn't plan of frying your boney butt right away.

"I want the U.S. president to know that a world without Bush and Sharon is a much better place."

This is your brain. This is your brain on radical Islam, drunk on absolute power just like Saddam. STFU mullahs.

If either or both men died today, a better world they would already be leaving behind because of their taking a stand for freedom, liberty and human rights.

This Ayatollah Ali Khamenei better watch his fighting words or find himself ending in the manner of Saddam.

Hey Khameni, ya wanna bet? I'll bet you a Honeybaked Ham and a bottle of Chivas that our President enjoys a better ending than Saddam or you.

What a maroon!

We have elections every four years, so Bush will be facing Dean or some other Democrat next year.

Even if Bush wins, he can only be President for a total of 8 years.

Bush will never rule the US over 30 years. Period.

Comparing Bush to Saddam is stupid.

On the other hand, comparing Castro to Saddam, that makes sense.

That's a good bet, IMO.

By this time next year, he will be, as they say "In the past.", taking a dirt nap, bought the farm, tango uniform,
assumed room temperature, and no he won't be pineing for the fiords.

The Transition's progress in another 6 months will astonish the world, and scare the bejeebers out of the tyrant mullahs
as Iranians see what is possible to a free people.

Big talk from the Sand ghettos. They can flap their lips but when it comes down to the nitty gritty, those that speak the loudest are the most likely to crawl out of their ratholes like cowards.
