Methane is a smelly gas but it burns very efficiently.

Lawyers should come with warning labels...

WARNING: May sue at the drop of a hat, pin, market, booger. May need no evidence of any wrong-doing or negligence, on the part of any party involved or any party that may be involved. As ALL parties are subject to offend or at least have lots of money that Said Lawyer may want a part of.

Not quite that old here... In the 70's, I remembersomething similar to your "Kill the Man" game... And we had a neighbor with a steep sloped front lawn with 3 "steps" which was great for "King of the Mountain!"

Don't get me started about the 4th of July bottle rocket fights! Or a fun game of lawn darts (Jarts?).

CG is very concerned about the holster at that photo angle.

Ha, that holster is conveniently hiding your fat a**! ;)

Just kidding. You look trim and svelte.

called it "murder ball" ha ha

Sounds like the same game alright!

I guess today that wouldn't be to politically correct. ;)

Can you imagine today, a kid in school writing an essay on his neighborhood game, "Murder Ball" or "Kill The Man"? He'd be hauled off to the principal's office, and suspended for fear that the kid was unstable and a threat to the other kids!!!

God, I really feel sorry for the kids today, and on another level, I really am fearful of where this country has gone and is GOING - down the tubes!

we'd get out my friend's Dad's 16oz. boxing gloves and had some real fun. You really couldn't do much damage with the big gloves, but someone would eventually have to cry "Uncle" (oh, the horror).

Yeh, we had a pair of them too. I will tell you, when I tried to fight one of my buddies with those heavy gloves on, my arms got so tired I could hardly hold them up. Painful.

We had one kid in the neighborhood whose father (a WWII Marine) had taught him how to box. Damn, this kid kicked my a**, he just kept jabbing me in the face. He was taller, and it was real frustrating. But he was a good friend, still is, and that's the point of all this!

Some good sayings by my mom: "You're gonna put your eye out with that!" "If_______jumped off a bridge, would you?" "It's as easy to fall in love with a rich man as a poor man." (words I didn't heed...:) And the best one of all, heard many times over the years from both of them "I love you."

Very nice!

Lawndarts --- I still have a set of them. Don't tell me they aren't sold anymore!

We used to stand about 35 feet apart, and throw them up in the air to see how close we could get them to the other guy's feet! You were deemed a chicken if you moved, but sometimes you just had to. ;)

I wouldn't trade those days for anything. Growing up in the country, we had to make our own fun. Some of it was spent listening to the radio, or in front of the TV.

It seems like anyone born in the late 50s has been subjected to it all, the innocence and the not so innocent.

Music was a big part of it. We went from Paul and Paula, to Elvis, the Turtles, Lesley Gore, Sonny and Cher, the Supremes, the Beatles, the Monkees, the Beach Boys, the Doors, the Osmonds, Alice Cooper, the Cowsills, Led Zepplin, the Carpenters, Pink Floyd, the Partridge Family, Crosby, Stills and Nash...

Movies and tv as well.... Dragnet, Laugh In, the Patty Duke Show, the Group, Gidget, Andy Griffith, Bob and Carol and Tedd and Alice, HeeHaw, Peyton Place, Shindig, Valley of the Dolls....

We were subjected to it all..... but I guess it all probably made us stronger in our beliefs.

Did anyone else read (or at least try to get through) Senator John Edwards' piece of garbage Op Ed in last week's Newsweek?

The cover article was about our country's problem with idiotic lawsuits and trail lawyers run amok and assinine settlements that the original article here is about.

He DEFENDED the process and came off sounding like more of an a-hole than before!

These Dems are simply unreal.

Put Edwards on an old 50's bottle of shampoo!
