I attended Shabbat services in a local Reform synagogue, and the topic of the sermon was the Geneva Accord, and the rabbi afterward solicited comments and discussion from those in attendance.

What struck me in particular was a lack of moral clarity, and a clinging to a kind of moral equivalence by the other individuals who commented on it.

While I was pointing out the shattered promises of the Oslo Accords and expressing skepticism about the prospects of Geneva, others seemed oblivious to the fact that a majority of Palestinians polled support continuation of suicide bombing and other attacks on Jews even after Palestinian statehood, and at least two individuals repeated the phrase "on both sides" in reference to bad behaviour as if it were a mantra, as if the demolition of a vacant home where a bomb was constructed - a bomb later used to dismember a young mother and her baby in a stroller - can be compared to the murder of that mother, her baby, and a dozen others.

Their lack of moral clarity seems to cause them to muddy the distinction between bloodthirsty murder and militarized self-defense.

A friend on this board calls *reform Jews* DEFORMED Jews, and for many of the same reasons. It is my contention that no matter who you are, if you live without The Law, you have no right to be called anything, much less a Jew. It should be noted that not all those who call themselves Jews have a moral right to the Name.

It doesn't only happen in those anti-Jewish tidbits at leftist colleges either.

Indymedia Israel Under Investigation

An organization called "Indymedia Israel" is being investigated by Israeli police for incitement. Their web site was recently shut down when managers at Actcom (which hosted the site) were inundated with complaints.

The complaints began in earnest after Indymedia Israel published a cartoon depicting Prime Minister Sharon kissing Adolph Hitler...I ain't posting it here.
