Did you know that I find preventing implantation of a fertilized egg far less morally upsetting than interefering with it after implantation?

Furthermore, Buchanan, while making some good points, conflates two separate issues in his book. Race is most emphatically NOT the same thing as culture, but Buchanan is unable, or unwilling, to distinguish the two when he writes of the decline of Europe.

Western civilization is not, contrary to what Buchanan would have you believe, genetically inherent to only white Europeans. Rather, it is a cultural artifact that Europe has become increasingly unwilling to demand acceptance of by new immigrants.

Europe's problem is not declining birthrates, but failure to culturally assimilate the incoming migrants. It is the same problem that the United States is currently having with Mexican migrants along the Southern border.

The replacement of one type of genetic stock is utterly untroubling if there is a forced assimilation of the culture. This is why when the control of Europe permanently passed from the hands of the Mediterranean Greeks and Romans to the Germanic people (the Franks and the Goths, primarily), it was no great problem, since, while much was lost or changed, the basic core of European civilization remained intact, uniterrupted.

So don't give me that "Europe is aborting too many white babies to keep the middle easterners down!" garbage. Europe's problem is that it is too unwilling to demand that the immigrants to its nation change their attitudes and culture to the dominant one.

America has the same problem.

This is your own personal belief, based on your willingness to allow some people to kill other human beings due to some arbitrary line you've drawn. Whether you prevent them from implanting or take them after they've implanted, they're still human beings, by a strict species definition, growing, and developing as they should at that stage of their lives.

There is no justification for infringing on the right not to be killed that can not be extrapolated to other human beings that are now considered legal persons.

An excellent point. If we focus on assimilating hispanics in this country, a couple of generations from now the only change in America will be that the average American will have a better tan.
