If I may be so bold:

6. Islam is a religion of peace

...perhaps this is the start of the liberal 10 Commandments...

I try to argue, alas mainly in vain, that a strong religious element in society works against the steady creep of an all-intrusive secular-socialist government, thus acting to preserve our liberties.

Even if I didn't believe in G-d, I would believe that religion is crucial to maintaining our basic rights. If we have unalienable rights, there must be a reason. If that reason is not something that is eternal and immutable, then they are subject to change. We may not see that change in one generation, but the change will come.

Why do you think there is now a right for homosexuals to marry, but no right to post the Ten Commandments in a public building?

Shalom.

perhaps this is the start of the liberal 10 Commandments

1. Thou art the Lord Thy God. Thou shalt have none other gods besides thyself. If thou can get that codified into law, fine, but don't sweat it.

2. Thou shalt not make for thyself any graven tax refund. Thou shalt not bow down to them nor serve them. For thou, the Lord thy Self, are a jealous god, and tax refunds takes money out of thy pockets and gives it to the rich ba$$tards who earned it.

3. Thou shalt not take the truth in vain. Thou shalt not take the truth at all unles thou canst prove it serves a purpose. Thou shalt not bother with the truth when a lie will serve as easily.

4. Remember Diversity Day to keep it holy. Thou shall not celebrate any unity on that day. Neither shall thou hint at an eternal standard. For god made a Diverse, not a Universe.

5. Honor abortion and birth conrol.

6. Thou shalt not let a rich man keep his property.

7. Thou shalt not commit monogamy.

8. Thou shalt do no murder of anyone who might be at all useful to you (anyone else is fair game).

9. Thou shalt not bear honest witness.

10. Thou shalt not be satisfied with what you can earn for yourself when you can take your neighbor's stuff.

Shalom.

Yes, but because only legislative bodies can make laws, incorporation only means that no state legislature, city or county council, etc, can make a law respecting an establishment of religion.

Because judges cannot make law (at least in theory), they cannot possibly violate the first amendment.

Instead you just call people names like a five year old. And have trouble reading and writing as well. Libertarians aren't liberals.

Get a clue. This is supposed to be a place for news and discussion. Not childish name calling.

I'd be curious to see what sort of monument they'd build for it.

Government officials are inherently trustworthy, unless they are American government officials. Then they are lying.

Slight correction: Government officials are inherently trustworthy, unless they are Republican government officials. Then they are lying.

A lot of conservatives said Moore was wrong to refuse to comply with the court's idiotic ruling. Conservatives keep trying to play fair in the faint hope that, someday, liberals will play fair too. Note to conservatives: That will never happen.

That note should also apply to good 'ol "Deacon" Sinkspur!

Hey Sink...read THIS part...

The conservative argument for enforcing inane court rulings is that the only other option is anarchy. But we are already living in anarchy. It's a one-sided, Alice-in-Wonderland anarchy in which liberals always win and conservatives always lose—and then cheerfully enforce their own defeats. Oh, you see an abortion clause in there? Okay, I don't see it, but we'll enforce it. Sodomy, too, you say? Okay, it's legal. Gay marriage? Just give us a minute to change the law. No prayer in schools? It's out. Go-go dancing is speech, but protest at abortion clinics isn't? Okie-doky. No Ten Commandments in the courthouse? Somebody get the number of a monument removal service.

Is the untenability of your position "Sink"ing in?

"The ACLU sued, and for not surrendering immediately, Moore and James were media-whores.

If I didn't know better I'd say a good many Freepers made this same charge.

Paging one "Deacon"...

I read it very carefully and found it to be totally repugnent - supporting a judge with so little regard for the law.

This is a very real and very important question.
Suppose a sitting judge ruling the 2nd ammendment unconstitutional.
What would you do?
Would his rule be law?
Shalom.

Forget it...there are some FReepers that would prefer to live on their knees, groveling at the feet of their "elected" and "unelected" Masters.

Thus, they hide behind "The Court has spoken!" Nevermind if the Court was ALLOWED TO SPEAK according to our Constitution!

Klinton-era "Ends and Means" logic permeates some self-proclaimed Conservatives...they are mostly a lost cause.

Wow...this lady is top notch. Now I have to go and read the crap posts from all the liberals around here pretending to be conservatives. All of those who suport illegal court rullings just because they are made.

"It's not about God or the Ten Commandments, it's all about Roy."

What a shallow statement. That statement is so full of vision for this country...NOT....It obvious that you have so much respect for good people and the real law.
