Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

I know a number of black born-again believers, and am unaware of one who celebrates this nonsense. Therefore, I suspect that the writer is speaking of blacks who call themselves 'Christians' and do this. It's akin to caucasians who call themselves 'Christians' and yet fall for all manner of liberalism. Proving once again that just because one stands in a garage doesn't mean one is a car.

Kwaanza is a pagan earth worship event, and a very minor African celebration. It was introduced into American culture for one reason only, it is celebrated at Christmas time, and its worship here helps to dilute the true meaning of the
Christmas Season.
Like the comparatively minor Jewish holiday called "Chanuka", Kwaanza has no religious comparison whatsoever to the major Christian Holy Day of Christmas. Christmas is an entire holy Season on the Christian calendar that commemorates the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Kwaanza celebrates the earth, Chanuka celebrates a battle between the Greeks and Jews over Jerusalem.
One small way to combat this attack on our Christian faith is to say MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone this season, and dispense with the PC "happy holliday" bs. Also, buy only CHRISTMAS cards to send to your friends, and don't buy that "Happy Hollidays" nonsense. This will ensure that more and more CHRISTMAS will be put into the Christmas Season.

"I told you so" bump, from Atlanta. I saw that coming a mile away, just like the media's infatuation and coddling of Islam.

First thought upon reading the title: Why would Christians celebrate Kwanzaa in the first place?

just five years after his invention of Kwanzaa, he was convicted of torturing two black women by stripping them naked, beating them with electrical cords, placing a hot iron into the mouth of one and mangling the toe of the other in a vice. During the ordeal, he forced them to drink detergent. Man, this guy makes even Mohammad look good.

A place for those unwanted fruitcakes:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1042988/posts I attended an international dinner at a local elementary school two Christmases ago. The children dressed in the costumes of different countries and portrayed different holiday customs in drama, song and dance. I was seated next to the family of the representative of Kwanzaa (not a country, but in liberal-land, it's the thought that counts). I politely asked the mother what custom of Kwanzaa she finds most meaningful. She said, oh we're Christians. They just picked my daughter to portray Kwanzaa because she's black. The woman was smiling. AAUGH!

I won't sit here and joust over the evolution of the Christmas holiday, but I'll give you one good reason not to celebrate Kwanzaa, and that's all you need: it's a pagan celebration cooked up in the barren, desolate mind of a leftist black militant who didn't want to celebrate Whitey's holiday. In a nutshell.
'Nuff said.
