Look at this:
http://www.debka.com/article.php?aid=229 Pyongyang has its hand in nuclear programs and missile technology transfers with several Middle Eastern countries, Libya, Egypt, Syria, Iran and Iraq. Step by step, its engineers and technology have been quietly investing in the Libyan-Egyptian al Kufra nuclear center (where Iraqi nuclear scientists are also employed); its long-range missile components are assembled in Egyptian factories near Alexandria, Syrias medium-range missile assembly plant and chemical and biological weapons laboratories near Hama in the north use North Korean components and technology and, as we reported last month, North Korea transferred nuclear manufacturing facilities, including uranium enrichment equipment, to secret Iranian sites at Natanz and Arak. These are all multibillion projects.

"the Libyan leader has now opened the prospect of an end to sanctions and a return of US oil firms." More bad news for the RATS.

Indeed.

I don't think President Bush was bluffing either. I think he just put the plans back on the shelf.

I've long had more respect for Debka than evidently most others hereabouts.

Is that you, Jim?
It seems like a natural progression to me. The negotiations have been ongoing .... and suddenly when Saddam is found looking like a bag lady with a beard, Gaddaffi was smart enough to know when to fold his cards.

Thanks for the ping.
I wonder why this is all happening a week after Saddam was pulled from his spider hole. The mullahs in Iran have an uprising on their hands, Qaddafi gives up Libya's WMD program, and little ol' Kim Il hasn't been seen anywhere since October. Next thing you know, the President will present what's left of bin laden in a bottle.
This is going to be the best Christmas.

I very much hope you are right.
My fear is that I don't expect people who have held the government by force, and who risk death by relinquishing power will relinquish that power without a fight. If the Mullahs risk death then they have nothing to lose and everything to gain by fighting.
I'm afraid that the people are going to have to 'take' back their country by force. I am all in favor of us helping in any way the people of Iran see fit.

I keep telling everyone that Debka is months ahead of everyone in their information... This is just another example. This is true.

I am with you on praying for the people of Iran. My hope this holiday season is that they will all be free shortly.
Our family has a friend who originally came from Iran when he was young, graduated from college here, became an American citizen, and had gone back to Iran working for the US Air Force when the Shah was overthrown. He was on the last American plane out of Iran and had to leave all his belongings in Iran. His family had ties to the Shah, and he was wanted for questioning by members of the new regime. He escaped out the back of the apartment building he was living in and was hidden in the car of other Americans in Iraq for the Air Force as they made their way to the airfield.
