Arabs push for Israel to disarm

Egypt wants Israel to sign up to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty

Arab states have responded to Libya's pledge to abandon its nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programmes by demanding that Israel do the same. Egypt said Israel should eliminate all its weapons of mass destruction, while Iran said Israel should be forced to follow Libya's example.

Israel has never confirmed that it has nuclear weapons, but is widely believed to possess dozens of nuclear warheads.

Further details have been emerging of the secret negotiations with Libya.

US officials have revealed that American and British intelligence officers were whisked to a series of late night meetings with Colonel Gaddafi over several months.

The talks were cloaked in secrecy, with agents reportedly changing cars in the streets of Tripoli to avoid detection on their way to the Libyan leader.

The Libyan leader initiated the talks and is reported to have co-operated in drawing up proposals for disarming and allowing UN inspections.

Officials say he also provided information about Libyan weapons programmes that Western intelligence agencies had been unaware of.

Gaddafi's government: turning swords into ploughshares Some reports suggest the negotiating position of the US and Britain was strengthened when materials destined for Libya's illegal weapons programmes were seized.

The previously undisclosed operation is understood to have been carried out under the Proliferation Security Initiative launched by the US in September with the aim of halting the flow of WMD.

No details have emerged of what was found, or where it came from.

Arab indignation

President Mubarak of Egypt gave his reaction to the Libyan announcement in comments reported by the AFP news agency in Cairo.

"We welcome the Libyan decision," he said. "Israel must also eliminate its weapons of mass destruction."

Egypt has for many years been urging Israel to ratify the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and make the Middle East a region free of WMD.

Iran, which recently agreed to allow snap inspections of its own nuclear facilities, expressed satisfaction with Libya's decision.

"Iran welcomes any step taken by any country to dismantle weapons of mass destruction," said foreign ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi.

"But it is the time for the world to push for Israel's disarmament, as the main threat to the region," he added.

Similar sentiments were expressed by the Gulf states of Qatar and Bahrain.

Libya has said its decision to abandon secret efforts to build an atomic bomb and chemical weapons was driven by a need to develop its economy and boost the living standards of its people.

"We are turning our swords into ploughshares and this step should be appreciated and followed by all other countries," Libyan Prime Minister Shokri Ghanem told the BBC.

Senior Libyan officials met the head of the UN's nuclear agency in Vienna on Saturday to discuss how Tripoli's weapons of mass destruction should be eliminated.

Few details emerged from the meeting, but Libya has said it will accept strict nuclear safeguards. A statement is expected later in the week.

Israel should never, ever disarm. They are surrounded by psychopaths who've made it clear that their first goal in life is to eradicate the Jewish State. Stay armed, Israel. You're gonna need it.

How many times since 1948...?

You obliterated the nail's head. Israel is not a threat to it's neighbors or anyone else in the region...unless....that nation or someone in that nation is a real threat to Israel. And we should stand back and let them take care of business when they see fit. It's their neck on the line, not ours. They have the right to defend themselves in whatever manner they can. Up to and including nuclear...IF they have them. HeHe.

Amazing, these countries that are still at a state of war, and still refuse to recognize the right of Israel to exist, demand that Israel disarm.

Now that they know that Europeans thinks tiny Israel is the biggest threat to world peace, and that Europeans tacitly support the existence of their brutal despotic political structure, they can manuever for Israel's destruction one step at a time by bringing the leftists and pacifists to their side.

Of course, this is what makes Sharon's initiative such a good idea. Leave 90% of the Palestinians alone behind a big wall, and they will have very little left to complain about - no 'humiliating' checkpoint, roadblocks, midnight raids or home demolitions. Then maybe the Europeans and others will move on to more important issues, like what to do with these brutal Arab despots who support terror and war against their own people and the people of the world.

Radical Arab nations are in no position to make demands on anyone; particularly the Jewish Nation. Trash talk is cheap and Sharon is wise beyond his years and rest assured like Nehemiah he will build massive defenses and will never disarm in the face of TERRORISM.

The Jewish Nation is one of the most stabilizing influences in the world relying on Jehovah Gira (God Sees!). The revellation of truth declares the wisdom of this nation to the point of frustrating her enemies by claiming victory over evil empires who have been trying to use every satanic scheme possible to defeat them.

America would be wise to heed this warning as well! Jerusalem is the stumbling stone which will break those nations who seek to "DIVIDE THE LAND and will crush those who try to lift it! Genesis 15:18 will fully restore all the Promise Lands Shimon Peres the consumate liberal of the Jewish State has attempted to pawn off in their vain quests to secure peace.

Land for Peace has succeeded only, in reducing the original land mass to such a point that the country is un defendable. The original 297,000 square miles that originally given as the Promised Land will be fully restored during the MILLENIUM PERIOD because Jehovah Gira intended that the Jewish Nation be the rightful STEWARDS OF THE PROMISED LAND. The Wall is all that is left to them if they are to have any hope of survival given present circumstances. In fact for the above mentioned reasons Shimon Peres has placed within the reach of the Jewish Nation's avowed list of enemies the possibility of completely undermining the security of the entire nation. The liberal influence has the same effect whether it be in Israel or the United States. The traitorous actions involved, weaken and deliberately deceive the nations at risk. This is just one more reason we all must learn how to eat liberals and the sack lunch they carry!

We are in trouble with Jehovah Gira not because of the Jewish Nation but for Violating two specific Prophecies that deal with The Jewish Nation. #1 Genesis 12: 2&3. Our consumate Senate and House Of Representatives are guilty as is the United States State Department for deliberately bringing Jeopardy to the Jewish State. There is no bargain or deals to be made and if we allow our government to short shrift the Jewish Nation which they have; we are now in violation and guilty as charged! The curse spoken of is setteling over our land even now and we are not aware of what is happening. Most think everything is just dandy may I remind you we are just this Sunday back under Alert level Orange literally back to square one! All we have worked through since 9/11 could be lost once again and yet we mock God with our arrogance and pride of accomplishment. When former Governor Ridge came to the podium he gave the appearance of calm but I read concern on his face; we need to know what he knows but as usual we are left to wonder. The second point of concern is The Roadmap! If the U.S. State Department persists in ramming this evil vile liberal inspired legislation down the throats of the Jewish Nation we will confirm that we are deserving of all the Warnings related to our dealings with The Jewish Nation. Sharon and his government have got to realize beyond all doubt that the U.S. State Department and its pacifists appeasers are the mortal enemy of the Jewish State above and beyond any Arab or Islamofacist state in the Middle East!

Build your walls O'Israel and bolster your defenses and know your only true friend is Jehovah Gira and a select few Judeo Christian believers scattered about the United States that support and pray for your Nation! We know the danger our poorly churched legislative leaders and court system poses to us and ultimately to you our Jewish Brothers and Sisters.

So true. We seem inclined to let Iran have nukes, with rumors of huge/hidden underground labs the UN won't have access to. And what would Iran do with nuclear weapons? Rafsanjani makes it clear.
