The TV ad, aired repeatedly in those crucial primary states, was hardly subtle. With Osama bin Laden's face filling the screen, a narrator intoned that Americans "want a president who can face the dangers ahead... . But Howard Dean has no military or foreign policy experience. And Howard Dean just cannot compete with George Bush on foreign policy."

In other words, vote for me. I can fake being in favor of the War on Terrorism better than Howard Dean. So I might win. That is the message from everyone except Lieberman, who actually supports fighting it.

Here's a question that should be asked to each candidate during a primary Democratic debate: "How do you respond to charges that you have no chance of overtaking the frontrunner? Dr. Dean, please answer this question with repect to President Bush. Everyone else, please answer the question with respect to Dr. Dean."

Ha! For a second I thought that was a Doonesberry strip.
Never happen.....not from Gary Trudeaux.

I presume the strip is still around, and if so, I bet Trudeaux's brain is about to explode trying to figure out what Democrat to push.

I am glad the democrats mentioned it first. Electing Dean would be tantamount to surrendering to Bin Laden.

In an upcoming Rolling Stone interview we may hear Kerry saying something like: "The war in Iraq made us safer. Sure I agreed with Dean before, but who the f___ knew they'd capture Saddam? I support the President now".

"What an amazing time to be alive."

Oh gosh, it sure is isn't it? As bad as it has been to realize the Islamofacists of the world want to kill us, they really, really do it is so heartening to see our beloved W rise to the occasion and lead our nation in this new challenge. Likewise I must say I think Tony Blair had been excellent in defense of the West. Also Mr. Howard and the Poles and Spanish have been great.

We are getting the rare chance to see a true re-alignment of both our nation's and the world's politics. The rise, and hopefully, eventual irradication of Jihadi Islam, the last gasps of communism, if not yet socialism, the complete post-Clinton crack-up of the democratic party.

It is all pretty amazing.

Funny, I thought the Democrats were still enraged over how Republicans supposedly questioned Max Cleland's patriotism in an ad that, for a split second, showed a picture of Osama Bin Laden. Now, the Democrat establishment is running an add that all but accuses Howard Dean of being Osama's right-hand man (or in this case, his left-hand man).

If Howard Dean gets the nomination, he will be so bloodied and bruised that he'll never recover. Team Bush undoubtedly has hours of footage of Lieberman saying Dean is a pro-Saddam radical who will cause a depression, of Gephardt saying Dean is a man without a conscience, and of Sharpton calling Dean anti-black. None of the above will be able to cut a commercial for Dean or speak at his convention without suffering a crushing blow to whatever credibility he might've had.

That said, it's obvious that the Rat establishment is working feverishly to destroy Dean by January. Unfortunately, I think they might succeed, especially if George Soros or some other angry limousine liberal dumps $10 million into the anti-Dean campaign.

It seems the Demorat internal war is getting uglier.

We can laugh now but come day after primaries, no matter who wins the nomination, ALL Democrats and their pals in the liberal media are going to circle the wagons around that guy. If Dean wins, he will get the support of every former Kerry voter, and vicea versa.

Don't forget, their mantra is "Anybody but Bush". And they mean that too. Al Capone against Bush, Charles Manson against Bush, Hitler against Bush, Stalin against Bush, Saddam against Bush, Osama Bin Laden against Bush. Makes no difference to them.

Remember, when Gore used Willie Horton against Dukakis. Dukakis won the nomination, Bush used Willie Horton against Dukakis too, and Bush was made out to be the bad guy for doing what Gore did. Who supported Dukakis in the race against Bush? Former Gore supporters.

All previous attacks against one another will be forgiven and forgotten as if they never happened.

Yep, then we can watch the winner do a full speed sprint to the political center as the media pretends he was always a centrist.

But Heather Hurlburt, a former speechwriter for Clinton-era Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, is worried that the stop-Dean forces are essentially giving aid and comfort to the political enemy, providing the Bush campaign team with all kinds of ammunition for later use against Dean.

There's nothing wrong with giving aid and comfort to the real enemy, though.
