Makes it sound they do indeed need covering.

There was a time when wearing a scarf was a common part of fashionable dress, whether as an accessory or to keep one's hair from getting messed up outside. Nowadays women and men both wear bandannas as well.
So can I wear a scarf as a fashion statement, but a Muslim woman cannot because she has another reason?
That is ridiculous.
Here in Greenville you see alot of the Bob Jones girls (students of Bob Jones University). You can spot them a mile away- subtle/little or no makeup, long skirts or dresses, flat or low heel unassuming shoes. I wouldn't presume to tell them what to wear either.

Thousands of people, mainly Muslim women shouting "The veil, my choice,"

It's not 'your choice' when the men in your society would beat you until you wear it.

''The veil, my choice!'' _ Muslim women march against head scarf ban...

--------------------------

Isn't it nice when you construct a religion oe social movement so twisted that its members will protest or even kill to keep themselves in psychological bondage?

Bingo. The reason the women are pubically protesting about the potential scarf ban is because their men tell them too. Or else....

Ah France, can't say I'll miss ya.

Europe is now beginning to feel the effects of the agreements signed with the Muzzles in 73-74 which opened them up to uncontrolled Muzzle immigration.

Hmmmmmm......Multiculturalism.

I understand what you are saying............

So you are in favor of the quaint Somali practice of Clitorectomy? This should soon become all the rage in Maine.

"......norms of Western Society allow......Pointless religious harrassment is against the norms of Western Society and Christian teaching.

Hmmmmm..........

(1) I happen to NOT think that this is 'pointless'.

(2) I don't consider it harassment.

Counter-question: Do 'The Norms of Western Society' and 'Christian teaching' include a Suicide Pact also?

If so, then I'm not signing it.

So that would include the choice to not wear it in any Islamic country. That would also include the choice to wear a cross in Mecca and Medina.

" . . .the quaint Somali practice of Clitorectomy . ."

The Baptists haven't gotten around to that yet. Guess you figger its just its just a matter of time?

BTW, heard of a group which actually opposes male circumcising! How would outlawing that sit with our Jewish FReepers?

Sorry, but I don't buy it. Like all good Liberals you've swallowed the Multicultural pill whole.

Liberals would tax us at at a 100% percent rate, if they could get away with it, in their attempt to establish a perfect Communist utopia.....and if you say, "No", they would call you 'selfish'. The same applies here where a people are being asked to surrender their identity on the altar of Liberalism....and if they don't, they are called fearful or zenophobic or racist, or whatever, by the small-minded, snivling, self-hating, nihilistic Liberals.

What is the limit to a society's altruism? Does it mean undergoing cultural suicide? Gang memebers can have their 'Colors' banned for what they represent: Hate. Muslims can have their spitelful, hateful 'colors' banned too.....or they can return to their own society where they have already banned any outward sign of any other religion.

BTW: You still haven't answered my question whether our Norms are a Suicide Pact.....but then again I didn't expect an answer.

Regards.

No, I pity you in your self-hate.

If these clowns hate the norms of Western Society so much why are they living in Western Society?

Great question. Answer: cause their holy book tells them to take over the world or die trying.

Perhaps, but that seems to me to be a separate issue, especially considering that the ban also includes "big" crosses, yarmulkes, etc. Do the women make Jewish men wear those? Perhaps Chirac should ban men forcing women into certain religious beliefs, rather than cowering behind a clothing accessory issue. This assumes that Chirac really cares about either of those issues. Seems to me Chirac has missed the first tenet of France's motto, Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite..... where's the liberty?

"The protest, a cry of anguish "

BULL!! If they want to be Islamic fanatics, they should go back to herding camels in North Africa. You can't identify people who are wearing masks, and since all Muslims are now suspect with regard to terrorism, no Muslims should be masked.

I hope the French and Germans are forced to wise up and see the error of their liberal wyas in allowing a mass invasion of their homelands by these fanatics.

Vive Charlemagne!! Vive Richard Coeur D'Lione!!!!

Sant' Iago Matamoros!! Vlad Tepes!!!
