FReeper Tiki has issued a plea on the Troop Prayer Thread "Call to Arms"(posted by Texokie and amom).
Her brother in law is USAF and has sent a list of troops who are getting little or no mail and/or packages. For many, the morale is low for various reasons.
About 9 are stateside addresses, one is a widow of a soldier lost in Afghanistan, one is a Major who is asking for things for his unit - 16 of whom were killed in the Chinook downing.
It will break you heart to see this list.
Tiki asks that we not publicize these names, but, rather, do this through FreepMail.
There are 71 names on this list - and this is just from Tiki's brother-in-law. Silly me, I thought everyone was as well cared for as Eric and Sgt. Mike.
If anyone is able to help out, please Freepmail me, or tiki, and we'll try to coordinate so that all get something - at least some mail. I know I've missed pinging people who could really help, and I apologize - I'm trying to pack and get everything organized for our trip. Please spread the word. I'll be back on Tuesday and will respond then.
Thanks, Dosers. I know we'll come through for these soldiers.
Merry Christmas or Happy Chanukah to everyone.

A friend of mine sent me that list..
I cried just reading it.
Beacuse of my surgery and being out of work, I was unable to send any packages, and that broke my heart, but I intend to adopt a few soldiers, and spoil them rotten.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, I only got the list myself 2 days ago...
Happy Holidays and God Bless..

Let me know. Our Republican Women's Federated Group has been very active with sending things. We'd be happy to help.
