[history]
SEATTLE - As a U.S. Army Ranger, Pat Tillman probably is accustomed to stealth missions.
He made another one this weekend, visiting his old team, the Cardinals, on their trip to Seattle. Tillman, a former Cardinals safety, is stationed at Ft. Lewis, about a 50-minute drive south of Seattle.

He has declined all interviews since joining the Army in the summer of 2002. My personal hero. Gave up an NFL career and millions of dollars to join the Army and serve in combat in Iraq.

Definitely one of the many deserving "Men of the Year".... What an impressive guy (and his brother).

Everytime I read or hear a story about Tillman I am overcome with pride and love for this man.
A friend of mine said that Tillman 'gave it all away'. I think Tillman found what he was looking for; a greater reason for living than playing a game.

Thanks for posting this. I was wondering what had happened to him. I assumed he wasn't KIA or we would have heard about that.
I regret not following through with Airborne and trying Ranger school.

My personal hero.Agreed. Now tell me this, mark. If you were an Iraqi terrorist and you had to face this . . . . . . wouldn't you look for another occupation?
The thousands of Tillman-like warriors we have looking out for our safety makes one proud . . . damn proud!

If you were an Iraqi terrorist and you had to face this..wouldn't you look for another occupation? Since he doesn't give interviews, we don't know--but since we do know he was with the Rangers in Iraq, it is very possible that he helped cause some Iraqis to change occupations or Tillman may even have contributed to Allah's current virgin shortage.
BTW, great tagline.

Good bless this man, and all of our other brave soldiers.

No doubt numerous movie producers are competing to see who will be first to put Tillman's story before the public.

Lisa, saw your tagline. It would sure be a sad day in Buckeye-land if Maurice Clarett goes into either the NFL OR the Army!

Actually, I hope he does get to go to the NFL. Anyone who knows the entire story probably doesn't want him back on the team. I know I don't! He's a great athletic talent, however....well, I'll just leave it at that.

I just saw on MSNBC Pat Tillman has died in Iraq. This is so sad. He gave up millions of dollars. He is a real hero.
