If Bush does this, he loses his base and loses the 2004 election.

Right. We here this same mantra in every thread where somebody doesn't like something Bush does.
Guess ya'll will be real happy helping to put Howard Mean the kook..in the White House. Real smart.

I'm writing in Tancredo. He may not win, but at least he represents the majority of Americans. Bush is too busy bowing to foreigners.

Well this explains why Bush's poll numbers are around 60% approval. And he beats all the Dems in the polls. Because he doesn't represent Americans.
Right.

Sorry - you need to go back to school. It is the employer's job, and it is our job, because WE ARE THE GOVERNMENT.

GW.....Karl......ya pass this POS law the Illegals and their supporters ain't gonna vote for ya...........

Why bother kicking your true voter base in the teeth with such an ass kissing cheap effort to buy an illegals vote (yeah they got em just all the elected RATS) at the price of liberty.

Just my opinion of course.......and my vote.

When the stupid GOP is out for the next 8 years maybe, just maybe, one guy will figure out they can NEVER win without conservative vote.

Clinton must have made you soooo happy for eight years between 1993-2001 that you just can't wait to do it again. You are actually hoping for a 'rat to win. You ain't real bright.

Yup.
Has anyone read that "Mexifornia" book? Supposed to be very good. About how we are harboring a whole class of people who never assimilate....it's a real mess, man.

Oh, honey, there are also alot of hispanics that are pissed, too. The ones who have been here for a generation or three, and are proud to be assimilated Americans. And blacks, also.

"How is it that we can afford to send american troops overseas to patrol foreign borders yet when it comes to our own we won't do it?"

Excellent point, goldi...I sometimes wonder if Dubyuh even thinks illegal aliens--blatant and unrepentant lawbreakers--should be discouraged from flouting the Immigration Laws of this Nation!!

"It makes no sense to me at all. Granting amnesty to illegals is not only assinine but is an impeachable offense. What is the purpose of fighting terrorism when our borders are wide open? "

Gotta agree with you...granting amnesty now is tantamount to telling the would-be immigrants who are still actively pursuing citizenship in this Country, the legal route, that "Hey, yer CHUMPS!!"

"It's as if Congress and this current administration invite terrorism into this country for the purpose of suspending the constitution and implementing marshal law."

That there's a pretty heady accusation, my FRiend, and not one I necessarily agree with...I continue to believe the War Against Terror will someday be declared "WON!!" and we will enjoy a restotation of liberties that we Americans have forfeited over the years.

Your using logic...no fair. If you really want to communicate with this mob you should try to create a bond to identify with them...try saying something angry like all "Mexicans are thieves and subhumans. Go Tancredo. I'd rather vote for Nader than Bush," or some other neanderthal right fringe masturbation material...then you can weep because life is unfair and all the Mexicans have the good jobs like cleaning toilets and making fries...pretty soon Joe Hatenough will be sending winky smiley faces to you ;-)

It never ceases to amaze me that a majority of Republicans and Democrats have enough human decency to actually think about immigration and propose humane and logical reform yet the paleo cons think a majority of Americans hate just as much as they do. They actually think they are the majority despite election after election. You would think that when the best they can do is come up with some obscure congressmen as their leader, reality might slap some sense into their mushy brains.

60% approval

Don't believe everything you read about polls. I will repeat what I said - President Bush is too busy bowing to foreigners, and many conservatives are fed up with him. He's a liberal in conservative clothing.

Here's what I e-mailed them:

President George Bush
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20500

Mr. President, Mr. Speaker, Mr. Majority Leader:

Let's get serious here, and cut through all the bullet points and nonsense:

I'm a good, solid, tax-paying, hard-working Republican that is very supportive and appreciative of many things accomplished by this Administration and this Congress. Tax cuts, the war on terror--kudos and thank you.

However, I am nervous, and frankly, worried about this upcoming vote on Immigration Reform. I think the Republican Party is making a terrible mistake--not just for the party's electible viability, but more importantly, in terms of our country's national security and economic progress.

If you vote to allow millions of people who have broken our laws and are here in my country illegally to instantly, automatically have legal resident status here...you are making my country less safe for me and for my family.

You are allowing employers to pay lower wages to American citizens, by diluting our low-skilled labor pool with illegals who will work cheaply.

You may very well be allowing potential terrorists, already within our borders, to remain here legally, thus having the freedom to move around and plot attacks with greater ease. How are you going to implement tens of millions of thorough background checks?

You will be sending a message to others who wish to enter our country illegally. You are telling them to come on in, there's plenty of room, lots of jobs, and sooner or later, we'll allow you to stay legally, even if you broke the law to get in.

You're sending a strong message to those who are trying to migrate here legally from other countries. You are telling them, in no uncertain terms: You're a fool. Why are you wasting your time, effort, and money to play by the rules? You don't need to do that. You should have just crossed the border illegally or overstayed a work or student Visa. You'll never get caught. In fact, one day, some politicians will grant you amnesty in return for votes and donations from those who benefit from illegal immigration.

This is the WRONG MOVE to be making on immigration. We need to enforce the laws we have. We must protect and defend our borders. We should be deporting illegals, not catering to them. (Please don't think me a bigot or xenophobe. I have many close friends who are immigrants. But they played by the rules, and did so legally. I do not believe that is too high of a standard to insist upon.)

You are in danger of losing my support and vote. I know many, many other Republicans who feel the same way, in all parts of the country. You could have a political backlash on your hands from the people who normally would be your strongest supporters.

And I WANT to support you, President Bush. I believe in you. I believe you are--in many ways--making our country safer. That is why I cannot understand your desire to grant amnesty to illegals. It doesn't make sense. It doesn't make us safer. It will not help us economically. It's the wrong thing to do.

Please reconsider your support of this amnesty immigration reform legislation.

Or I may be forced to reconsider my support of you and the Republican Party.

Sincerely,
PJ Kellogg

"60% approval"

Don't believe everything you read about polls.

Why not? When nearly all show Bush in the high 50's to low 60's?
You're trying to convince me most Americans are against Bush without a single poll to support your claim. Give me a break.

I will repeat what I said - President Bush is too busy bowing to foreigners, and many conservatives are fed up with him. He's a liberal in conservative clothing.

Right. The Dems', the Liberal Media and the Euro-whimps have ALL been crying nonstop for Bush's entire Presidency that he is UNILATERALIST COWBOY who doesn't give a crap about what "foreigners" think....and you are claiming Bush is "busy bowing to foreigners".

You single issue fanatics should try contacting the real world once in a while.

Right. The maid who's been working down the street and doesn't have her green card yet will immediately attack you and your family if Bush gives her amnesty.
Impressive argument.

And you, Jorge, should come to California and take a good look at what's going on here in the "real world". California is now Mexifornia, and we're paying for the whole mess. Wake up.

Impressive sarcasm, Jorge.

Of course, I didn't say anything about a maid (there are none down my street anyway, I assure you), but don't let the facts get in the way of a snide comment.
