...but it just felt like the thanks I gave him there wasn't enough," she said.

I'm sure it was enough to last that guy a lifetime! Thanks for the nice post. Happy Christmas from Avery (Ace's Dad)

That is exactly what I was going to say. There are angels walking this earth, they only think they are ordinary people.

FReeper Davidtalker, David Gold, is talking about this now on KVI Radio in Seattle. He thinks the donor was a conservative not a liberal. Me thinks he's right.

Blurry screen alert, for sure. Thanks, SAM. Running out of tissue, and my ping list may revolt at all the heart-tugging end of year stories we're finding...and isn't it wonderful that we're able to find so many stories honoring our troops and Veterans today?!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was in the post-office parking lot, of all places, where Karin Santos rediscovered her faith in humanity. It had been an emotional few months. Her husband Alberto had left for Iraq in November with the rest of the Stryker brigade...The Woodinville couple had been married only a few months, and Santos was feeling pretty alone as a military wife so far from the support at Fort Lewis.
But a kindhearted man at the post office changed everything for her when he said he knew the sacrifice a couple makes when a husband goes to war, blessed her, handed her a roll of money and walked away.
The newspapers are full of evils deeds. Just remember that there are saints among us who, as you suggest, don't know they are lighting candles or us all.
It's wonderful to know that such people live in, or at least frequent, my town.
Have you Hugged a Vet Today?
That sounds like a great bumper sticker campaign for FR.
Wouldn't that be fun to hand out at FR Rallies and FR Counter Rallies?
Powerful slogan, isn't it? Meant for sharing!
Reminds me of the awesome memorial created from Saddam statues ~ the little girl comforting a mourning Soldier. *sniff*
one thing is for sure, he dang sure wasn't a democrat or a politician...first they don't give diddly to anyone if it is their own money and second, he would have had all kinds of reporters nearby to capture the "spontaneous" giving moment.
May God bless this fine gentleman who gave from his heart and obeyed the scripture by doing his alms in the closet. No way to ever know for sure, but i'd bet my last pair of clean socks, he hasn't told a soul about his kindness either.
