I think the writer made two-thirds of this up. I am more and more suspicious of lefties who quote people on the street. Need Mao worshippers? Just make them up.

It is a pretty shallow article. Certainly there are sentiments towards Mao, mostly among workers that find themselves lost on the new economy. China is very much two parties: 1). Workers and 2). Those that are making it as either a rising middle class or the new very, very rich.
