Does anyone really believe that Howard Dean actively sought a hitch with Planned Parenthood and DIDN'T perform an abortion?
To: BroncosFan
I'm pretty confident he DID perform abortions, and that is one reason why his records have been closed. One of many reasons.

" Dean's extensive ties to the Northern New England chapter of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc., including his internship and work as a contract obstetrician/gynecologist at one of the group's Vermont clinics in the late 1970s and early 1980s.."
That cats is out of the bag. Was this an internship or do they mean Fellowship?

I could swear there was a report about two months ago where he (dean the deranged) performed an abortion on a minor and stated since it was a case of incest or sexual abuse within the girl's family he did not notify the girl's parents.
It later came out that the story was hogwash and it was some girl who was afraid she'd get in trouble if her parents found out she got knocked up and he (that lunatice leftist dean) performed the abortion.

Hey Broncos Fan:
So am I (I live in Colorado Springs).
What's up with the Feds blocking the Ban on Partial Birth?
That's the first I've heard about that...

I did not perform abortions. I'm a medical doctor.Dean is being deliberately misleading. He would apparently have people believe that since he was a "medical doctor," he didn't perform abortions, with the apparent implication being that abortions aren't performed by doctors but by some kind of abortion technicians. In fact, only "medical doctors" are legally permitted to perform abortions.
This guy is another Clinton, without the charm.

Uh huh.

I understand women's health, and I will defend the right of women to control decisions about their bodies," Dean says in the campaign statement. As governor -- Dean was the state's chief executive between 1991 and 2003 - he helped secure $350,000 a year in taxpayer funds for the Planned Parenthood chapter, according to Hahn Beerworth and the state's financial support of Planned Parenthood continues in 2003, she said. Dr. Mengelev Dean must believe that the unborn babies bodies are of little consequence...?

I understand women's health, and I will defend the right of women to control decisions about their bodies," Dean says So women are exempt from drug laws? Helmet laws? Seatbelt laws? Those are decisions about their bodies, are they not?
If women below the age of 21 have control over their bodies enough to have abortions, shouldn't they have control over their bodies enough to drink alcohol?

Is Dean admitting abortionists are not doctors????Um sort of, Vermont is either the only state or one of the only states where nurses and pysician assistants can perform abortions. From what I understand and was told, most abortions up there aren't really performed by doctors anymore.

He didn't say he did the abortion, but he knew of it, and was using it as an example of why he would not sign a parental consent law (he claimed the girl had been raped by her father).
The story, in its whole, was fake, and there was no such girl, period. He regretted the "misunderstanding" and blamed somone else. One of his staffers spun it as being a gaffe equal to when Bush's father made statements about a girl that had something like 12 abortions (also untrue).

I'm pretty confident he DID perform abortions, and that is one reason why his records have been closed. One of many reasons.Thats one of the rumors going around, the other (and very credibile) is due to the special favors and perks he gave to large businesses in Vermont, right down to making personal phone calls to them every week. Vermont is highly regulated and anti-business, but for the connected few, Dean would personally clear hurdles, they ask for certain things to be ignored and he did. Gephardt has been saying this for a couple of months now, but the media seems to be ignoring him on it.
The other rumor, which may or may not be true, has to do with some of the letters being personal letters in which he says some very nasty things about people, and he may have written some controversial statements.

This law may have been passed when Dean was governor, so it would have no relevancy to what he said.

Interesting. I stand corrected.
To: joesnuffy
Doctor Dean, I'm a woman and I want the Vermont taxpayers to support my decisions about my own body, too. Toss me my fair share of that $350,000.
To: Texas Eagle
When docs say they are "medical", they mean they are not ob gyns or surgeons.
