Once, I went to a neighboring state to buy powerball tickets for a $150 million draw, I got 40, $5 tickets ($200) total. I went to the local pub and people were standing in line to buy them from me. The prize was won, (not by anybody in the pub).

Following draw, I again got 20 each $5.00 for a $10 million draw, and could not sell one of them. I found it amazing that people wouldn't put $5.00 out for a $10 million prize, but would mortgage the farm for the possibility of winning $150 million when the odds were exactly the same.

Amazing how 10 mil can actually look like chump change. Compared to any of our salaries, it's a "Major Award!"
