Strategists see Jewish turn to GOP

The war on terrorism and President Bush's reputation for being a good friend to Israel, Republican strategists hope, might finally curb the trend of the party doing poorly among Jewish voters in presidential elections.

It would have to happen eventually. The increasing anti-semitism of the black segment of the Dem party, the hostility to Israel, etc, are going to make lots of Jewish Dems to have to make a choice between the Left and Jewish collective interest.

Hopefully the choice won't involve coming into the Republican Party only to try to make it into Dem-lite

As noted on Rush's show a few weeks back, you're also seeing a shift in the Catholic vote.

What as once a very democratic voting block is becoming more conservative. A major shift change!

As the Dems. move ever leftward (see Dean), it's inevitable that some Jewish and Catholic voters will peel off. Some conservative blacks too.

The makeup of the democrat nine does make one wonder. Within the same framework we have four candidates of people with jew background of one degree or another. Then there are others in the group that despise the first four. Yet all are of the same party. It is not a "big tent" party that puts forth the nine. Differences of agenda and politics is one thing. Hatred for beliefs is quite another.

I have many Jewish friends, and most are libs. In fact, all but one are libs.

For the life of me I don't know why, except that the most staunch of these libs will reveal that they are pro-abortion. Other than that, there has been no other strong attraction for them to vote Dem.

Even pointing out how the Dems hate Israel doesn't seem to sway their desire for abortion to be available at all cost. But they sure go nuts when I've compared abortion to the holocaust.

When Dallas, Texas, went Republican in city offices during the early
eighties for the first time in a century, we knew the Civil War was
over at last.  When will American Jews stop voting against Israel?
