I am by no means prepared to vote agains the president- but- how do we register our disappointment with the way spending has soared and the size of gov't has grown, without voting against him???

If a nut like Dean or Sharpton (or any of them) gets the Dem position and a Regan-esque landslide is inevitable, I would rather cast a vote for a conservative third party candidate as a protest and a means of letting the Pres know how I feel. I would never do anything to hurt his chances of winning but I would rather get a message to the Whitehouse then be one of a zillion votes that- in a landslide- are just icing on an already well frosted cake.

I wish there was a ballot line that reads "Against the Democrat but not necessarily in support of the President's policies thus far".

With all due respect:

1. We won't know for absolute fact that it will be a landslide until after it happens;

2. If it turns out to be a landslide and you voted 3rd party, will you really be sending a message that anyone will ever get?

2004 will not be an ordinary election year. Our national security is at stake. GW is the ONLY man up to the task.

If you don't like the direction of something, get involved at the grass roots and work for what you believe in. Protest votes can get the worst choice elected.

the problem with voting for that 'conservative third party' is that you are voting against the president AND will split the votes perhaps enough to elect a democrat... heaven forbid!! Remember George Sr... and the Perot fiasco

>>>I would never do anything to hurt his chances of winning but I would rather get a message to the Whitehouse <<<

I thought the same thing when I voted Perot in..what 92? Yep....and we had Clinton for 8 freepin years! Politics is a funny thing....never count on your vote not counting on for what you voted for.

>>>but- how do we register our disappointment with the way <<<

Write a letter and send it in with a donation to his campaign. That's not to hard is it?
