Dream on. That is what they want us to think. These hateful people are playing "good cop/bad cop"! In the mean time, they are developing a nuclear bomb with the help of fellow Moslems-Pakistan. They declared right after the earth quack that they will accept help from everbody, except ISRAEL! What is that tells you? They are full of hate. They also announced that they will shoot misile at Israel if it attacked their nuclear bomb making facilities.

US QUAKE AID WILL NOT IMPROVE RELATIONS, SAYS IRAN deutsche presse via bloomberg no url | 12/30/3

Posted on 12/30/2003 8:45:54 AM EST by NativeNewYorker

Kerman (dpa) - The assistance by the United States for quake victims in southeastern Iran will not improve political relations with Teheran, President Mohammad Khatami said Tuesday.

``We are very grateful for the U.S. humanitarian assistance and appreciate it very much, but politicising the issue would be too far-fetched,'' Khatami said in a press conference in Kerman.

There had been widespread speculation that the dispatch of U.S. relief aid and rescue teams for the quake victims would also improve relations with Iran after 25 years of political hostility.

``There are some fundamental problems to be solved and also the approach should be drastically changed. In that case, we could consider new discussions,'' Khatami said.

This was taken as a reference to remarks by Secretary of State Colin Powell on Monday over the possibility for renewed dialogue with Iran.

While Iran has considered the U.S. as the ``Great Satan'' in recent years, Washington has included Iran in its ``axis of evil'' owing to alleged involvement in terrorism and production of atomic weapons. Just in case you did not see this thread!

It's what the Iranian government wants, not the Iranian people. We like The U.S, Israel, Muslims, Jews, Christians, Budhis and all races. That is why the Iranian people are different with their crazy government.

Not as fast as Turkish did. Turkish workers were the first team came to help.
Iran thank all countries and people throughout the universe.

Look. I've seen your other idiotic, argumentative posts.
Get it through your head....the Government of Iran is NOT representative of the People of Iran.

PERIOD.

You'll be ignored here from now on.
Go argue somewhere else.

The very few moderate Iranian people have no power. The Hateful Islamic fanatics are the majority, and the governing power.

And on what do you base this allegation?

Or are you just trying to be contentious?

I dare to say the moderate Moslems in the entire world, not only Iran; represent less than 15%! The rest are full of hate.

It appears you have just chosen to pull a number (15%) out of your hat.

Under you criteria the US should be easily overwhelmed by the Iraqi Muslim's. But the polls in both Iraq and Iran do not support your belief. In both cases there is strong US support. Check out the Iranian Alert Daily Thread for the polling information.

What I find intriguing is why this is so important to you. Why do you assume the people of the middle-east cannot choose democracy, peace and prosperity.

Bush administration believes it is possible and I support the administration in this effort.

At some point doesnt someone in Iran say...."How come we are still living in mud huts? There has to be a better way to live? Why is it that the floor to my house is dirt?"
Dont the guys in Iran sit around and think how can we do this better. Why arent the wives demanding their husbands fix up the house and make it a little more earthquake proof?
How much longer until the people say, the way the government works now really aint working out for me here. Its time to maybe kick it up a notch.

what a tragedy...

It appears you have just chosen to pull a number (15%) out of your hat. Yes I picked this number out of my hat, it is not a scientific survey, but it is simply a rough estimate based on real life experience with several Moslem nations - 20 years! Did you or President Bush live with the Moslems for twenty years? The culture imposes hate, and it is reinforced daily by the media. You can help them all you want, but, at the end, you are an infidel.

Under you criteria the US should be easily overwhelmed by the Iraqi Muslim's. But the polls in both Iraq and Iran do not support your belief. In both cases there is strong US support. Check out the Iranian Alert Daily Thread for the polling information. You are correct. However, hating people does not mean that you are going to subject yourself to harm by acting on your hate. Few are angry enough, and stupid enough to kill themselves in the process. The evidence of the hate is loud and clear with all the suicide bombing that is taking place daily in Baghdad. You simply prefer to wear rose colored glasses.

What I find intriguing is why this is so important to you. Why do you assume the people of the middle-east cannot choose democracy, peace and prosperity. Actually, I think they are more than capable to have democracy. The problem comes from forcing democracy on them - by a country that they hate. Democracy must come from within. We can help it out by instituting social critics/humorous commentary/appeal to tolerance/better text books/reforming Islam. All these steps were never attempted with all the billions of aids that we poured into these countries - simply because of our stupid diplomats and our politically correct crowds who insisted on NOT INTERFERING IN THE INTERNAL AFFAIRS OF OTHER COUNTRIES. “WE RESPECT ALL RELIGIONS”! Sorry, I respect no religion that is teaching its followers to kill me. As a matter of fact, I would make such religion an outlaw - "illegal cult"!

Bush administration believes it is possible and I support the administration in this effort. We spent 14 years in Vietnam in an attempt to change these people's mind, and make them love us. In the year 2,017, send me a note to acknowledge this fact.

Happy New Year

No, like any other country - Some educated / some stupid / some peaceful / some HATEFUL. In the case of ALL Islamic nations (except Turkey), MOST ARE HATEFUL of what they call the infidels. Simply because their media keep pounding that hate into their hearts from school age on. Christians and Jews are the devils! If you are a Christian or a Jew, and still insist on loving these hateful Moslems, then you need to seek help.

Can Americans send mail and packages to Iran? Will it actually make it to the intended recipient? (please excuse my ignorance)
