The guy behind the fence. He later did radio commercials for some "Home Depot" type store.

How will Wilson hide his face this week? That's what "Home Improvement" viewers have been wondering for the past eight years. It was a challenging question the show's directors also faced. After Tim Allen came up with the idea of having a neighbor shown only from the nose up, the directors had to think of clever new ways to hide Wilson (Earl Hindman) whenever he was in a scene. During the show's 201 episodes, Wilson has been hidden by some pretty funny things.

Actually it was Home Depot. And not just radio, but TV as well.
