Here's some happy news this Christmas season, an unexpected gift for those who have seen and admired Mel Gibson's controversial movie, "The Passion," and wish to support it. The film has a new admirer, and he is a person of some influence. He is in fact the head of the Holy Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church. Pope John Paul II saw the movie the weekend before last, in the Vatican, apparently in his private rooms, on a television, with a DVD, and accompanied by his closest friend, Msgr. Stanislaw Dziwisz. Afterwards and with an eloquent economy John Paul shared with Msgr. Dziwisz his verdict. Dziwisz, the following Monday, shared John Paul's five-word response with the co-producer of The Passion, Steve McEveety.

Funny that anyone would attribute knowledge of Jesus or Christanity to the catholic church.

That church is so far from what Jesus and his father had in mind it's not funny.

Who cares what they think, they are just another political organization who tax the hell out of people for thier own gain.

As for a movie about Jesus, why would you need it? We have been given a book with the whole truth and it is not hard to understand.

Good thing the likes of Charlton Heston and Mel Gibson had enough money to put the catholic version out there again. King James would be proud. That bible was the King James "VERSION", was it not? Whatever!

While I am not Catholic, I will witness to the fact that I have never met any people of better quality than the Catholics I have known. While the Church itself may not be be what Christ envisioned, the people who fill it have been my teachers, my friends and personal examples of unconditional love. The Church itself may not fully represent the plan, but I believe the people themselves go a long way towards fulfilling it.

When it is available on DVD--I will purchase it. When it
comes to a theator near me-- We will go watch it. When I
die -- it will be among those things I would have passed on
that my childrens children might see and know it was as it was.

funny my Bible teaches children are to honor their parents.
There would be No Protestant church --had there not been a
Catholic church. As there could be No Christianity had the
Messiah not been born a Jew. Reject that which is NOT Christ
but respect that which led us to Christ.

I have to agree somewhat with your post about the Catholic faith. I know lots of wonderful catholics but see alot of error in what they are taught. Just my opinion. What I feel.

A guy with no job sitting at a screen bashing Catholics.

Yeah, We'll listen to YOU instead of the Holy Father.
