You must be hiding under a rock. My High School age daughter couldn't speak spanish so she was denied a job at the mall! How's that for one example. I suggest you contact Terry Anderson at www.theterryandersonshow.com. He's a local black talk show host (870am-Sunday 8:00-9:00 PST) and ask him for more examples. There are thousands that cannot get jobs, especially in the construction trade and the restaurant industry.

I do think there is something wrong with Americans being denied jobs due to not being able to speak Spanish, and I am worried the trend will continue.

I tried to encourage my older girls (and my son)to learn Spanish. I sold Avon, and it got to the point where I no longer could communicate with half my neighborhood. All you have to do is look at the help wanted ads. For those of us who work retail, or customer service, most jobs now require you to speak Spanish. Of course I live in CA.

So what does that have to do with illegal immigration?

You expose yourself as anti-Mexican, not anti-illegals with the above comment.

I live in Tucson, Arizona where there are jobs aplenty that require the ability to speak Spanish. The employers can require it if they want to. What's the problem with that? When I worked here when I was younger I actually used my Spanish. Unfortunately language is not like riding a bike. Use it or lose it. I wish I could still speak it passably well.

BTW, I'm still waiting for you to offer evidence of your earlier remark. I asked for a cite.
