Some classes are more equal than others, I see.

Well, that's what a people get for electing a Canadian to be their governor.

Does anybody know the progress report on the attempt to amend the Michigan state constitution? I heard that it had support of a majority of MI state senators. Can it go on the ballot without the governor's approval?

Gov. Jennifer Granholm's choice of Christmas to grant special protection to such behavior was a (bitch) slap in the face.

There. That reads better.

Michigan's Marriage Protection Amendment has sat for three months without action in the Senate Govt Operations Committee chaired by GOP Senate Majority Leader Ken Sikkema. Meanwhile, in response to polls showing overwhelming public approval of preserving one-man, one-woman marriage, the rocket scientists at state GOP HQ have squeamishly discouraged any action...though in response to a potential uprising among party activists, that may be changing.

Every poll and political analysis known to man suggests that protecting marriage will be of immense political benefit to those championing it.

One poll says over 50% of Americans are "more likely" to vote for a candidate who opposes homosexual "marriage," while some low number in the teens is "less likely."

As to intensity, another poll last week said among those who feel STRONGLY about the issue one way or the other, opponents of homosexual "marriage" outnumber supporters 3-to-1.

2/3rds of African-Americans and union households oppose homosexual "marriage."

Freepers, help us help Michigan's Republican establishment find its backbone.

And yes, if it gets 2/3rds vote in both houses, it goes on the Nov 04 ballot with or without the governor's approval. She plays no role in the formal process.

Hey, if Jennifer wants to burn in Hell that's her business.

Yeah, but why should we be forced to start the fire?

This is the same Jenny Granholm who was allowed to be a lector at her local Catholic Church and whose priests supported her even though they knew she was a pro-abort. The real Catholics in Michigan have to get together and turn this broad out at the next election.

They elected her.

True, the use of the executive order is far and wide used to bypass the legislature. At least the people can unelect the governor, unlike the judiciary which is usually the go-to branch for such a thing.

Don't blame Canada for this one. She moved to the US at a young age and that's where she grew up and got her values and education. She's obviously a US citizen. I don't know if she is a dual citizen. Can you become governor of Michigan if you are?

I don't understand why they haven't gotten it together yet ... let's keep pressuring them to do so.

I'm sure her priest and bishop will happily continue to give her Communion unless she does something really bad like trying to kneel.

Granholm is a CINO. Catholic in Name Only. She needs our prayers badly!

Father God I pray that you will save and change Mrs (Miss?) Granholm and teach her the errors of her ways. I pray that she will come to repentence and be transformed into the image of Christ.

If she refuses to be saved and changed I pray that you destroy her now before she drags more people into hell with her.

Good Lord. That is just sick. How can you as a Christian say those types of "prayers"? Those of us who seek to emulate our Lord Jesus Christ have compassion for all, no matter how misguided we may think they are. Shame on you for daring to invoke the Lord's wrath. There is only one supreme judge and you are not he.

What makes you think I have no compassion? I prayed that they be saved and changed. If they refuse then I have to pray for the protection of the innocents that they will drag into hell with them.

Read psalms. David was a man after God's own heart yet David prayed for the destruction of his enemies. God didn't have a problem with this.

Is it better to let an evil person who refuses to be saved and changed live and drag many others into hell with them or to remove that evil one so that those many others can be saved and enter heaven?

I pray that the evil ones be saved and changed. Always. But if they refuse to change then it is better for them to die instaed of dragging innocents into hell with them.

How did Jesus refer to people who lead others into sin?

Matthew 18:1 ¶ At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Note that this little child was an innocent. Likewise the actions of Granholm place many of these innocents at greater risk of molestation. So she is effectively offending these little ones.

I'd rather see one person cast into hell early than hundreds or thousands dragged into hell because that one lived and didn't get saved and changed

You can choose to be all soft and mushy and let innocents go to hell if you so choose. I'll continue to pray for the death of unrepentant evil-doers. I have biblical support for it.
