Israeli and Libyan officials meet
Jerusalem Post ^ | January 7, 2003

The foreign minister's political adviser Ron Prossor reportedly met in Paris with a representative of Libya's Gaddafi regime. The meeting was brokered by the government of Katar, reports a Kuwait newspaper.

Sides reportedly scheduled an Israeli mission to Tripoli late January to discuss diplomatic relations

The paper also reports that Israeli and Libyan senior officials met in Vienna last Friday at the US embassy there.

Ministerial sources claim that this is no more than a small step on a very long road, and stressed that without concrete actions on the part of Libya, there will be no advance beyond this.

Following Libya's announcement 3 weeks ago that it would disarm of weapons of mass destruction, Muammar Gadaffi's son has been holding meetings in various European capitals to gauge response. Lately, FM Silvan Shalom told reporters that there is no reason Israel should not have diplomatic relations with at least 10 Arab countries.

How very fitting. With sharon and the Israeli left running things, Israel will be an arab country very shortly.

Yep. The next step will be giving the Golan Heights to Syria, and giving El Baradei and the U.N. its entire nuclear arsenal, thus insuring Israel's destruction. To paraphrase "The Manchurian Candidate", If Sharon were a paid Arab agent he could not do more damage to Israel than he is currently doing.

Stop. Israel is fully aware of what it is doing. The preservation of Israel is Sharon's top priority, unlike Peres and Barak.

Israel knows what its bottom line is when it comes to accepting peace. I would expect that this has been drawn up 30 years ago and Oslo was a bit premature due to the agressive homicidal campaign waged by Arafats stooges, with Iraqi and Iranian support.

Something very big is in the works and patience is the key here. Everything we are seeing is a prelude to WMD being uncovered, the Palestinians getting a homeland and relations normalized with a good portion of the secularist Arab world.

There is alot involved in this and Libya, being the most stable if that can be said with a straight face is being asked to be the broker.

Everyone has something to gain in this passion play except the PLO. I think nations like Syria and Libya are realizing that Islamic fundamentalism is not going to work and that Iran will ultimately have to ask themselves what is more important to them. The dominoes are starting to fall. Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar, then Iraq, now Libya. Who will be next?

We see that Saudi Arabia is facing the same Islamic fate that several other countries faced. No one wants to follow suit and will most probably assist the west in cleaning up
terrorism, if only to have their political agendas realized. When this happens, Bin Laden will be caught.

IMHO of course.

Oslo was a bit premature

Premature??? It was suicidal. Peres and Yossi Beilin should have been jailed for treason. Rabin got what he deserved. Any treaty signed by Arabs is merely viewed by them as toilet paper (not that they use any).

Everything we are seeing is a prelude to WMD being uncovered, the Palestinians getting a homeland and relations normalized with a good portion of the secularist Arab world. The WMDs are in Syria, who is getting a big pass by both the U.S. and Israel. Everyone conveniently forgets that Syria is in violation of a 25-yr old Security Council resolution for invading Lebanon. All we hear about is how Israel is "occupying" the Golan Heights. This land must never be bargined over. It was annexed by Israel. Would we negotiate with Mexico to "give back" Arizona and New Mexico (then again I wouldn't put that past Bush).

And why are you so hopeful at a "Palestinian homeland"? There is such a place--Jordan, which is 90 PERCENT "Palestnian" (btw, none of the top 3 PLO leaders were born in any part of Israel...Arafat himself was born in Cairo decades before the creation of Israel...the concept of a "Palestinian" is a sham fantasy created by the PLO and the Jew-hating Left). Creating a SECOND Palestinian State in the West Bank would be forming nothing but a new terror state and Al Queda vassal.

So what about the 3 million + people who live in Gaza, Ramallah, East Jerusalem, etc...? I agree they don't deserve a 'homeland' because Arafat is a terrorist, but you can't just ship 3 million people off to Jordan, and you can't continue to rule over those people who will forever violently resist.
