Canada is not a real country anymore. It hasn't been one for years. We humor them when we pretend otherwise.

They've ceded national defense to America, they are dependent on the States economically, and to the degree that they define themselves culturally as not being American, they are dependent on us there as well.

Now Americans are too polite to call our Northern neighbors on these uncomfortable realities, but the facts remain.

Everything that has happened since Confederation points in the same direction. The future of Canada lies in political union with the United States.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that Canada is a vassal state.

I say let the various Canadian provinces in, except for Quebec. Let them be what they apparently wish to be...a colony of France, connected culturally, economically, and governmentally to Europe.
