35 soldiers wounded in mortar attack
Thirty-five US soldiers have been injured in a mortar attack on a US base west of Baghdad.
Six blasts happened at about 6.45pm local time at Logistical Base Seitz, the US military said in a statement.
The wounded soldiers were from the 3rd Corps Support Command.
"The wounded soldiers were given first aid and have been evacuated from the site for further medical treatment," the statement said.
No further details were given.

there were also people from the 541st Maint. Company, 3rd Brigade 1st AD (my unit) hit. The radio reports we got here said that one of the mortars hit a shower trailer, a portable building with showers and sinks. I saw the radar tracks of the mortars...the cowards fired from in a congested residential neighborhood where we couldn't rerun fire without running the risk of hitting innocent civilians.
