I hate to break it to you bud, but the highest murder and illegitimate birth rates in the nation are in Southern States.

You are almost 3 times as likely to be murdered in Louisiana as you are in New York.

The northeast part of the country is not really bad at all. Generally the crime and cultural indicators are all on the good to very good side. Most areas are healthy economically. it is not as crowded as many people think it is (once you get away from urban centers, the population thins out quickly). Sure there are lots of Liberals in some areas but there are very few in others.

Where in Gods green earth did you get those faulty stats? For heave's sake man, get a grip. New Orleans is a dump, but LA is not even comparable to NY. Look at the stats Johnson, the northeast enjoys more crime in almost every statistic, although some southern cities have inner city problems just like anywhere else.

Furthermore, the population patterns are mirroring economic growth patterns, which are trending to the south.

That's probably true now, bud, but since someone invented air conditioning and made a few "cultural changes" in the south, it's hard to find too many people with a Southern accent anymore...ESPECIALLY IN THE CITIES.

Our weather is nicer and the yanks are coming in abundance. I'm 58 years old and grew up in Georgia and we didn't have these problems back then.

There are some other "lines" along which you should base your "learned statistics" other than the Mason-Dixon line...

Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Southern accents and/or lifestyles don't kill people, people kill people.

Actually we never heard about "gangs" and such in the south until Radio and TV started telling us about all the crime up north, Chicago, NY, and such. Very few police "drama's" are set in the south...mostly the north and the west...liberal bastions all.

I've lived in your beloved "northeast", and believe me, you can keep it. I hope your next semester in the Junior Samples University is a good one for you...you seem to have learned all you know about the South from there, or watching CNN.
