I can't speak for everyone but I know our family has. We've sent e-mails but I'm also sending a hand written card thanking the President for taking a bold stand on a chaotic issue.

Anyone who thinks that illegals who are getting free medicine and free education while working illegally (because no-one is allowed to ask them if they are illegal) is going to go and sign up for a 3 year limit is braindead

oh and believe me, they fully intend to take advantage of their 'conservative' base.

I just got through e-mailing the House Committee members and my own congressional reps.
I don't know where this idea started or why the President thinks this is a good idea but this has got to nipped in the bud right now.
Do any of these "morons" look to see what has happened to Europe and their open immigration policy.
In the next generation a number of countries there will have third world immigrant majority status. I.E. the Muslim's will achieve in a somewhat peaceful manner what they could not over 500 years ago on the plain in Spain when El Cid stopped them cold in their tracks.
It's almost like (a) a Self-fulfilling prophecy and (b) a absolute blue print for disaster that no one wants to think about.
What in the hell are these idiots thinking? They can't possibly this is going to translate into a lot of votes for the Republican Party. And if they are they are completely nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have not been posting for awhile but read FR all the time and I am riled over W doing this. I have written to my Republican Senators and my Republican Congressman and also called all 3 offices. I am very opposed to this whole stance and this has been my problem with W all along and on every other issue I back him BUT this is one DUMB idea!

Hello, New Freeper. Get a grip. Your post makes normal people think of us as cold-hearted....it's a good thing that Bush is trying to do. He is a compassionate conservative...yes CONSERVATIVE. He is also the President of ALL the people in the US....not just us right-wingers.

I'd much rather direct my efforts toward a letter writing campaign to support the President's re-election. All your efforts will do is give encouragement to folks like Howard Dean and Hillary clinton.

Dude watch out for the FReepers, who for some inexplicable reason, see nothing wrong with supporting the citizens of another country with our tax dollars.

Personally, I feel very badly for people who live in corrupt countries where they can't support themselves. I understand their desire to make a better life for themselves and their families. They need to change the way their countries are run, not invade ours.

Shame on President Bush.

Time will prove the wisdom of the Bush policy.

The reality is the illegals are here, and have been for years. Many are the guests of Americans like you.

What Bush needs is political cover to nail those illegals to the wall who will not officially reveal their existence and play by the rules.

By giving them a fair chance to provide the best of their presence, the willingness to work at entry-level jobs that Americans shun, and removing the worst, which is their unregistered and illegal status, Bush is once again achieving the heroic and legendary.

Freepers will embrace this policy with time.

I'll be patient in my counter-criticism because I believe emotions and not common sense are guiding the initial reaction.

Has anybody started an email/letter writing campaign in response to the president's proposed immigration initiative?

This is about "hemispheric integration", immigration is just one aspect of it. The FTAA is what needs to be stopped. If the FTAA goes through America is done.

I'd like to call your attention to a thread titled Petitions, Phone Calls, Faxes, and FedExes Making a Difference for Conservative Values:
You might think to yourself that an e-mail is a waste of time. And if that's all that we ever did, you might be right. But when we follow up our e-mails with petitions, phone calls, faxes, FedEx's etc. -- we get leaders' attention in major ways. In fact, this year, we had to have a conference call with the Chief Information Officer at the U.S. House of Representatives... because your faxes to Congress were tying up all of their phone lines, and basically "melting down" their whole communication structure! You think they don't REMEMBER those kinds of things happening... and want to avoid "disrupting the masses" in the future? You BET they do!

From now on, I will definitely be sending lots of FAXES & making PHONE CALLS! Click HERE to send a FREE FAX to congress. This is not a shotgun URL. You have to type in the actual fax# and your message.

If you don't have your congresscritter's numbers handy, Click HERE and look 'em up. Let's keep those phone lines jammed up like Al Bundy's plumbing. If everybody will send one, we'll get this immigration boondoggle the congressional attention it really deserves!

E-Mail #1 (today)

Dear Mr. President,
Please stop this insanity concerning illegal aliens. Yes - ILLEGAL. You
are opening up the United States
for a terrible, perhaps death, blow.

I have been a registered Republican and voted as such for many years. If
this bill passes, I will either
not vote or, if Joe Lieberman happens to be nominated, I will vote for him.
Additionally, not one more
penny will I contribute - period.

I have the utmost respect and admiration for you and all you have
accomplished these last three years, however,
it this bill succeeds, it will destroy everything you have accomplished. If
you would like me to itemize each and
every fact, I would be happy to send you a breakdown.

God bless you and the family,

E-Mail #2

Dear Senator Frist,

In the E-Mail I received today, you mentioned you were on your way to visit
Vicente Fox regarding immigration issues.
I wish I had known sooner because I would have included a copy of the
following to you. However, here is
the E-Mail I sent to Vice-President Cheny and Secretary of State Colin
Powell:

Subject: ILLEGAL Immigration

Mr. Vice President,

After reading the full article in the Washington Post, I tried to write the
President. Laura Bush's name kept coming up
so I decided you would be next in line.

Please advise the President and whomever else involved, there is to be NO
special treatment for Illegals. And,
please tell them to STOP referring to them as Undocumented. This is just a
cover-up for lawbreakers. As far as
our Social Security system is concerned, I sincerely believe they have NOT
paid into it under false Social Security
numbers - it is against the law for anyone to employ them - including
housekeepers. This I was told.

I demand that all ILLEGALS be deported for breaking the law and if they wish
to return, do so legally - just as my
father and grandparents did many years ago.

The MEXICAN border is to be closed to all illegal activity, including drug
smuggling, and no special deals for
those that broke the law. I remind you what we the people of California
accomplished once former Governor Davis
signed the bill giving driver's licenses for illegals. With all that's
going on with illegals, is it any wonder the state
is bankrupt. Remember, I am one of many whose taxes are going up and up
while services, medical and crime
figures deteriorate. This is no longer acceptable and must STOP now.

I am a registered Republican and have voted and donated for many, many
years. Please advise all concerned
that I will not donate one more penny until this situation is resolved.
Again, NO special treatment for lawbreakers.

Sincerely,

"Bush to Seek Immigrant Benefit Protection

If you've already contacted them...DO IT AGAIN! Do it morning, noon and night! Give them not one seconds peace!
Get on your homeboys, people. Unless we get the numbers which will make them fear for re-election, it will be all over. There will be no going back. This is the showdown on the Immigration Issue. If you've been following along, you know that these people are costing the American taxpayers billions per year. They're taking jobs away from hardworking American citizens. They're draining our resources and giving very little back. This is it. If this is allowed to pass, we can quite literally kiss this nation goodbye. The massive population transfer that will take place is unspeakable. Do it now! Fight for your country and way of life!@

PUT A STOP TO IT NOW OR WE CAN KISS THIS NATION GOODBYE...LITERALLY.
