A Letter from Madonna

A Letter from Madonna
(As appeared on Madonna's web site.)

I've never done this before. But life is about taking risks is it not?

I know that people seem to pay attention to everything I do. Big or Small. Ridiculous or Sublime. So I am hoping they pay attention to this:

I am supporting General Wesley Clark for President.

Not only as a "celebrity" but as an American citizen and as a mother. I want my children to grow up with the same opportunities that I had - to know and understand what's going on in the world and to travel that world safely and with pride.

Now I'm asking you to join me.

I am writing to you because the future I wish for my children is at risk.

Our greatest risk is not terrorism and it's not Iraq or the "Axis of Evil." Our greatest risk is a lack of leadership, a lack of honesty and a complete lack of consciousness. Unfortunately our current government cannot see the big picture. They think too small. They suffer from the "what's in it for me?" syndrome. The simple truth is that the current administration has squandered incredible opportunities to bring the world together, to promote peace in regions that have only known war, to encourage health in places that are ravaged with disease, to make us more secure by living up to our principles at home and abroad. The simple truth is that the policies of our current administration do not reflect what is great about America.

Thankfully, there is now a candidate running for President who is committed to ensuring that our country lives up to its promise and its people. He is a decorated soldier and a respected diplomatic leader, who has already given 34 years to his country. He is smart and he is good. He has worked hard to get where he is and he is a national hero.

A perfect example of the American Dream.

I've never aligned myself with a presidential candidate during the primary season. But this time, the stakes are too high, we have too much to lose and there is so much work to be done.

I'm supporting General Wesley Clark in 2004 and have committed to do all that I can to help his campaign in the coming months. I ask you to visit his website today to learn about his candidacy, his vision for our nation and the many ways you can get involved.

I've looked at all the Democratic candidates. I respect them all for their dedication and patriotism. But I'm supporting Wes Clark because in him I see the qualifications, character and vision that we so desperately need.

We are a country with incredible promise. As Americans we enjoy opportunities like no other. Unfortunately we take these opportunities for granted. You may not agree with everything I say or do, but whether you're rich or poor, young or old, black or white, gay or straight, I know you share my concern and recognize the need for change.

Even if you've never been involved with politics before, please consider joining with me. If you can give, give generously. If you can volunteer time, get involved now. And if you can vote, this time... make sure you do.

Wesley Clark has asked for my support and now I'm asking for yours

Madonna

People may be stupid as you say. However, in a debate with George W. Bush, Clark will lose his temper and fold and yes, Clark will fabricate....only thing is...he's not good at it. Granted...Dean would do the same thing with his temper...he might not fold but...the damage would be done nonetheless. Either way we can't lose. :)

I'll bet not. Luckily for us, her royal highness has deigned to offer support and instructions to the sheeple who worship her and Britney. Brit worships her. The tie in with Brit at the awards show and on a 'musical' collaboration increases both their 'fan' bases. And sadly a lot of people get their politics and news from MTV and want to emulate their favorites. MTV has a huge register to vote movement going on. Prior to the 'kiss' would very many people have paid much attention to anything Madonna? Or to Britney, even though she is at the top of the charts? I doubt it. But now? Let's hope not. Many of the entertainment types are still miffed that Dubya won the election. They have to double their efforts. It's no surprise she supports a socialist Dem. From her high horse in London.

No, this is a sitcom designed by the Klintoons and Follywood to make the party out to look so bad that Hitlery will have to be recruited. And the candidates are all playing along for bit parts in the new administration.

Lieberman - Ambassador to Israel Kerry - Secretary of State Clark - Secretary of Defense Dean - Secretary of the Interior Mosley Braun - Education Tzar Kucinich - Secretary of Commerce Gephardt - VP Sharpton - Minister for the Country

It does stink!! That all the dems could be so hopeless and pathetic, except for Hill.

That's exactly what I've been saying!! Hillary will come in at the 11th hour to 'save' us because 'the people want her', they have spoken. So Evita-like or Clintonescu-esque. Shudder. The cabinet you've selected sounds spooky. The cabinet almost sounds like an idea the dems would endorse whether or not Hill gets the nod. More shuddering.

God willing, this won't come to pass. If so, I think the first 3 things she will do, like her hubby, right after being sworn in (not on a Bible, of course): legalize all abortion including partial-birth, extend presidential term limits and select liberal Supreme court justices for upcoming vacancies. Later, she would hurry to socialize, communist style, all healthcare and education. After that, who cares?

Oh, and a run on passport applications.

Jackie's dogs picked GWB the winner in the 2000 election.

I report, you decide.

I don't think there is much chance of Bush losing against either one either. I just give Clark a slightly better chance of winning than Dean just because Dean has a long list of left wing quotes and zaney statements that are just waiting to be used against him. Clark has a very meager public record. He could be packaged by the media much easier as a "moderate".

I will admit that Jackie Stallone's dogs are excellent at politic pedictions, but they also said that OJ didn't kill Nicole, so I have some doubts.

Yeah, me too. I don't know if they release the data, but I do know that they claim voter registration among that age group is up. It could be hype, but they are trying.

You win some you lose some.

The doggies aren't very good at celebrity weddings either.

From 2000:

Jackie Stallone's psychic miniature Dobermans, Anna Nicole Smith and Jack Gordon will be married in the New Year. Gordon is the controlling former husband/manager of LaToya Jackson...

Whoops.

Bennifer thinks Weaslsey is just dreamy too.

NOV. 18 Democratic Presidential hopeful Wesley Clark may have lured Boston's own Ben Affleck away from Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry. Affleck and his fiancee, Jennifer Lopez, turned out to listen to Clark make his pitch Sunday night at a Hollywood fund-raiser.

"Ben thinks very highly of Clark," a pal tells us. "He's not ready to endorse anyone, but he's leaning toward him."

Hosts of the evening were Norman Lear, Irving Azoff, Jordan Kerner and Peter Morton, who opened his restaurant, Morton's, for a performance by the Eagles.

The event, which raised $350,000, also drew Kelly Lynch, Larry David, Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen (Steenburgen's and Clark's moms were best friends in Arkansas).

Clark didn't stay to eat. Ever campaigning, he headed to Madonna's house for dinner with her Madgesty and about 10 other potential contributors. NYdailynews

"I know that people seem to pay attention to everything I do"

LOL, reminds me of a funny bit on the old Ben Stiller Show where Stiller did a "rockumentary" bit on U2, with Stiller riffing on Bono as the Christ-complex egomaniac he is, saying things like "50,000 people may worship me in a stadium like I'm a god, but I put on my pants just like everyone else." or something like that. The joke being that he's self-aggrandizing while saying he' s a normal guy.

Of course, that was just a comedy skit, this is reality, which makes it all the more pathetic.

Yeah, he is! He reminds me of someone and I'm just trying to figure out whom...
But *this* is the man who's scorching hot! Oh, and his hands feel *so* strong yet gentle...
