I'm sure no blacks would have applied.

Not very many, at any rate. But if they applied, it wouldn't really be slavery, would it? Just a crappy job, no talk of "reparations" for involuntary servitude. Kind of like the deal the Scots-Irish got during the 18th and 19th century, in exchange for their passage to the New World.

Of course, the Scots-Irish aren't asking for reparations either. Perhaps they realize that in the long run, they got a good deal by being able to come here, and they were grateful for it. That's what my grandparents told me, anyway.

But how could you "really" know that this land provided the best opportunity for you unless you could have experimented with another possible senario? In other words, no one knows what could have been. So , you have chosen to believe this was the best thing that could have happened based on what is in existence today and they chose to believe that if they were left in their original place, they would have been the progenies that would have shaped Africa into another type of continent. Who can really know.

Of course any number of variables can profoundly alter history. This cuts to the very nature of the time travel paradox. My comment concerned the fact that I would not even exist in the corporeal form that I do were it not for slavery and it creating the opportunity for both my Negroid and Caucasian ancecstors to mix their gene pools.

I am all in favor of discovering any data that can enhance and illuminate the historical record so that we can better understand it. It matters not one whit that that data is ugly or unpleasant, so long as it is the truth. The purpose of my post was to illustrate the fact that the racial grievance mongers are unwittingly decrying their own existance as they seek to extort money. Rather than let the past be in the past while trying to shed legit light on it, they are conducting a shakedown posing as moralistic rightousness.
